The team

Monitor Institute by Deloitte (MIbD), a consulting team within the Client and Market Growth organization, works with social impact-focused businesses, philanthropies, and nonprofits. The team collaborates with innovative leaders to surface and spread best practices in public problem solving and to pioneer next practices - breakthrough approaches for addressing societal challenges.

MIbD blends the specialized knowledge and expertise of a leading-edge social impact consulting practice with the breadth and scale of a globally recognized professional services firm.

Work you'll do

  • Leads oversee and execute workstreams, including (but not limited to) primary source interviews, secondary research, and data analysis, to inform the development of hypotheses and recommendations to client

  • Leads develop client deliverables (e.g., presentations, documents)

  • Leads design and facilitate conversations with clients

  • Leads support execution of project logistics

Key responsibilities

  • Execute engagement work plans and work closely with Manager/Senior Manager to identify issues in scope or timeline

  • Serve as thought partner to Manager/Senior Manager; propose and develop frameworks, hypotheses, storyboards, analyses, and client meeting agendas that will advance project work and meet client needs

  • Develop agendas and materials for strategic working sessions with clients

  • Coach and oversee the work of junior practitioners

  • Support business development by contributing to proposals for client projects

  • Contribute to internal team initiatives (e.g., methodology development, writing eminence, drafting case studies/quals from project work)

  • Travel domestically for client service and select Learning & Development opportunities (post-COVID); will be highly variable based on project assignments and related requirements



  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3 to 4+ years of prior experience with track record of high performance

  • Moderate travel (while up to 40% of travel may be necessary for the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice)

  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available


  • Prior consulting experience

  • Social sector experience

  • Consultative mindset; ability to navigate ambiguous circumstances and complex structures

  • Desire to bring an active anti-racist perspective

  • Commitment to bring a DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) lens

  • Deep understanding of social sector issues, including but not limited to education, workforce development and innovation

  • Strong analytical, research, and project management skills

  • Strong storyboarding skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to proactively manage multiple workstreams and deliverables simultaneously

  • Ability to prioritize activities and manage to deliverable due dates and workplan

  • Proven leadership and teaming skills

  • Master's degree

  • Establish relationships with the C-suites of leading organizations in the social impact space
