Overview:

The platform and engineering team is a part of the Deloitte Cloud Solution Center that reports to the office of the Deputy CIO of Technology and is responsible for delivering cloud solutions that accelerate the delivery of both revenue-generating and internal applications. The team specializes in digitizing the firm's best practices and instantiating them as platform tool configurations and automations that drive agility while providing a secure and resilient hosting environment.

The cloud operations engineer is a critical thinker and problem solver with a customer-first mindset. As a member of the platform and engineering team, you will be required to support the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of our core global cloud platform solutions across multiple cloud providers, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure.

Your responsibilities will include ensuring that our platform services and applications are resilient, available, healthy, and performing well. You will be challenged to continuously improve our platform operations capability through innovation and developing self-service automations that simplify and improve the overall customer experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a thought leader by staying abreast of current and emerging cloud technologies and industry trends.

  • Provide tier 2 support for operational issues involving Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform, Azure.

  • Monitor and resolve incidents, changes, and requests

  • Partner with architecture and engineering teams to ensure that appropriate documentation is created to resolve tier 2 support issues.

  • Escalate complex operational issues to tier 3 support as needed.

  • Quickly learn how to support new cloud technologies as they are rolled out within the organization.

  • Directly support the use and delivery of cloud services in the organization.

  • Develop self-service and highly automated operational solutions that improve the quality of support provided to customers.

  • Ensure that all operational solutions follow established security and compliance controls.

  • Be a trusted advisor for cloud initiatives by providing objective, practical, and relevant ideas, and insights.

  • Participate in the on-call rotation queue.
