Legal Business Services - Information Governance - Manager

Within Legal Business Services, our Information Governance teams guide clients throughout the information lifecycle, serving as strategic advisors for clients' program development and deploying tactical solutions, such as physical and electronic data remediation. We combine our expertise in records and information management, legal and compliance, and business operations with our teams' analytical skills and cutting-edge technology to offer innovative solutions to our clients' complex problems.

Work you'll do

As a Manager supporting our Information Governance team, you will work with a team of experienced professionals to help clients optimize information governance/records and information management practices and associated business operations. You will contribute directly to delivering first class services to our clients, and your support of the engagement lifecycle will include solution design, service delivery, and directly managing junior practitioners.

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Manage delivery of large, complex or multiple smaller simultaneous client engagements

  • Manage engagement planning and budgeting, to include development of engagement objectives, scope, and project plans

  • Develop and lead strategic solutioning

  • Lead day-to-day interactions with clients and Deloitte teams

  • Manage day-to-day client relationships

  • Lead teams in quantitative or qualitative analyses to help meet client objectives

  • Contribute to the growth and development of junior practitioners

  • Manage pursuit/proposal development process

  • Participate in pursuit discussions and proposal presentations

  • Manage development of marketing materials and thoughtware

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of relevant industry or consulting experience, including 3+ years of demonstrated experience leading and managing high performing teams and 2+ years of project management experience

  • Experience with information governance, data governance, records management, or related concepts (data/content management, metadata and taxonomy management, data classification, records retention or disposition)

  • Understanding of corporate business operations and functional business processes

  • Experience leading multiple successful smaller projects and/or larger, complex projects

  • Experience presenting to clients or other decision-makers to present and sell ideas

  • Experience identifying client challenges, owning responsibility for the quality of deliverables, managing stakeholder relationships, and developing recommendations

  • Experience leading/directing meetings and presentations with senior-level stakeholders without oversight

  • Proven leadership skills demonstrating strong judgement and decision-making

  • Superior attention to detail and ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and bring new ideas and insight

  • Ability to create and lead development of impactful PowerPoint decks and written communications

  • Ability to lead teams in an ambiguous environment

  • Track record of building strong client relationships and identifying potential opportunities

  • Demonstrated sales cycle experience and willingness to manage pursuits and marketing efforts

  • Experience mentoring and coaching others and an eagerness to mentor junior staff

  • Passion to learn, grow professionally, and share knowledge

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

  • Ability to travel up to 50% (While the ability to travel up to 50% is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice)

  • Bachelor's degree required

Preferred

  • JD, MBA, or Master's degree in data science, computer science, or related field

  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean Six Sigma, or other similar certification

  • Prior consulting experience

  • Experience with current records management, archiving, data classification, or other relevant technology
