Work You ll Do
Compile and analyze data. Understand clients business environment and basic risk management approaches. Demonstrate general knowledge of market trends and competitor activities, products, and service lines. Identify and apply relevant specialized technical accounting, regulatory standards, cost accounting concepts, financial close and Consolidation/Financial Reporting, financial operations. Participate in decision making with engagement management and seek to understand broader M&A and transactions impact of current decisions. Participate in engagement planning and budgeting, define the work product structure and content, and manage engagement economics, engagement risk and engagement timeline. Contribute to the proposal development process. Engage in recruiting and retention activities. Build and nurture strong client relationships. Apply technical accounting standards, financial reporting, valuation techniques and methodologies for data integrity, capital markets transaction support and due diligence. Will commute within the Jersey City, New Jersey area to consult with clients concerning the above job duties.
Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
Eighteen months of experience designing and implementing multiple projects.
Experience must include one year of:
Analyzing financial data for divestiture, mergers, and acquisitions;
Researching accounting standards codifications, code of federal regulations, and recent updates, including jobs acts related to carve-out and initial public offering financial statement requirements;
Researching industry trends and monitoring major corporate events, including restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic changes using public resources tools, including SEC EDGAR filings and IBIS world database;
Analyzing multi-year financial data using advanced Excel functions;
Drafting technical accounting and reporting methodology memos in business transactions settings, including initial Public Offering (IPO), carve-out and divestiture, and Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A);
Constructing complex and comprehensive financial models using Excel for M&A and capital raising transactions including merger, acquisition, leveraged buyout, recapitalization, divesture, carve-out, asset purchase/sale, and joint venture transactions;
Advising clients on M&A and capital raising transactions for interested parties, and their implications with respect to industry and regulatory standards, including IFRS accounting rules, GAAP, corporate tax, SEC rules and regulations, and Sarbanes-Oxley sections 302, 404, and 906;
Building analysis for strategic buyers and financial investors in the context of M&A, capital raise and leveraged buyout transactions; and
Interfacing with client CEOS, CFOS, and executives to deliver presentations and M&A findings, and assisting clients in response to auditor inquiries and examinations.
Less than 10% travel outside of normal commuting distance.
