Work You ll Do
Provide day-to-day client service relationships and serve as the gateway to a variety of specialized tax services that can help improve compliance while maintaining client s overall tax risk profile; mentor and coach junior team members and escalate issues when necessary; perform detailed technical reviews of corporate and partnership tax returns and review all related work papers; perform detailed reviews of income tax provision calculations in accordance with ASC740; research federal tax legislation to assist in understanding the impact on compliance and consulting; assisting on tax consulting projects related to federal tax planning, restructuring and controversy.
Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
Eighteen months of experience providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and tax returns in public accounting or industry setting.
Experience must include eighteen months of:
Preparing Federal and State income tax returns for corporate and flow-through entity clients;
Utilizing tax software and research tools, including CCH and RIA Checkpoint to provide tax services to clients;
Preparing workpapers related to taxable income calculations, reconciliation of book-to-tax differences, GAAP and tax basis calculations and tracking, and fixed asset/depreciation calculations;
Performing complex partnership tax computations, including IRC Section 704(c) computations and basis adjustment computations under IRC Section 743(b) and 734(b);
Assisting clients with Federal and State tax examinations, responses to Information Document Requests (IDRs), and various tax notices;
Preparing quarterly estimated tax payments for corporations and flow-throughs; and
Preparing quarterly and annual provisions in accordance with ASC 740.
