Work you'll do
As a Pursuit Senior Manager in Consulting, you'll use your skills and experience to:
Develop strategies for new business pursuits and retention opportunities, applying targeting/sales principles to identify win themes, create compelling messages, brainstorm solutions to challenges, and identify benefits for clients
Transform strategic thinking into persuasive deliverables that differentiate Deloitte, such as proposals and oral presentations
Manage the pursuit process, from orchestrating development of deliverables to coordinating our teams' pursuit activities
Manage team members (of various specialties and at various levels of seniority) to develop responses that meet the needs of potential clients
Demonstrate the ability to bring creativity and innovation to the framing and structuring of proposal and other deliverables
Write persuasively, including executive summaries and other critical components of deliverables, interpreting information from research profiles, meetings with proposal team members, client meetings, and understanding of the business and Deloitte's offerings
Serve as an orals coach (as needed), facilitating orals strategy sessions; creating outlines for story development; assisting with orals planning, scripting, and coaching; developing and communicating rehearsal schedules and logistics; preparing teams for orals delivery and Q&A sessions; and facilitating the orals debrief sessions and post-orals strategy
Contribute to developing Deloitte's Consulting pursuit team including collaborating and coaching other pursuit team members, refining and improving pursuit strategies, and acting as a project-by-project liaison between our team and the broader firm
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in communications, business/marketing, humanities, or related disciplines, with advanced degree preferred
15+ years of relevant experience in business-to-business communications and/or strategic marketing communications directed to Fortune 500 organizations; experience in a professional services environment preferred
6-8+ years of direct, relevant pursuit management experience, overseeing large, global pursuits
Advanced/mastery level of skills and specialties that offer high strategic value to top priority pursuits
Experience leading teams in strategic discussion
Experience with project management for complex, multi-dimensional projects
Diversity of experience in large corporate organizations and small business concerns
Experience in public speaking and executive presentation training/coaching and/or delivery
Excellent relevant writing samples
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint
Travel of 20-40% (Travel will fluctuate based on level/requirements of pursuit, status of COVID-19 at that particular time, etc.)
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
Preferred
Training in formal capture/proposal methodologies
Implementation of industry-wide best practices in proposal management
Proposal writing experience in a Big 4 or relatable professional services environment a plus
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Colorado, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and delivery model. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top end of the range, but such a decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the range is $115,030- $211,850
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
