Description of Role

The Employee Experience & Communications Manager will join the US Corporate Development Acquisition Integration team and focus on integration planning and execution for acquisitions that Deloitte makes across multiple business areas. Deloitte plans and delivers transactions to support growth and development of the Firm's strategic priorities. US Corporate Development- Integration team helps deliver the value of these transactions, working across teams to execute the planned operating model and deliver the transitioning teams. The focus of integration- transition planning begins during diligence and continues to early stabilization post close. Focus on employees commonly extend beyond 1 st 100 days for continued communications and feedback.

The purpose of this role is to deliver successful of transaction and post-merger integration through an in-depth focus around people (all stakeholders) and the change management and communications required to deliver the new organization. The focus of this role is to support and advise leaders and lead workstream members to deliver unique employee experiences and change plans within the Integration Office for each acquisition. This person will drive a coordinated employee experience, lead change management and communication plans that addresses the integration strategies around talent and manage all internal and external communications.

This resource will facilitate the use of best practices for Deloitte's strategic acquisitions, drive coordination across all teams, and be hands-on to help teams develop leadership-focused transition plans, deliver people and client-focused communication plans, support the internal positioning strategies, as well as drive the continued execution of change management plans beyond the first 100+ days.

The expected outcomes are that:

  • Business and Integration workstreams launch more efficiently by having a champion and consistent toolset

  • A coordinated effort across multiple communication areas including Deloitte PR, Marketing, and internal business communications to deliver Day 1 and post-close announcements in a seamless fashion

  • Favorable feedback on post-merger communications with improved connection of people across legacy and new teams and channels

  • Deliver excellent content in communications internally and external

    What you'll do

    Expectations of the role will be to:

  • Assess culture and future state operations and change implications to plan the employee transition and communications; work across teams to plan broader Deloitte internal and external communications

  • Write proactive communication plans that are sustained post-close to include activities and feedback from "champions groups" and pulse surveys

  • Develop deliverables such as Culture and Change Assessment, Employee Experience and Communications plans

  • Deliver key events such as Employee Announcement Events and Day One Onboarding (i.e., Welcome to Deloitte events and Champions Network sessions)

  • Help teams develop excellence in messaging and communication deliverables and deliver content or support content development as appropriate

  • Deliver continuity of change management and communications support to fully execute the plan, from diligence through to at least 100 days post close

  • Utilize consistent best practices with continual refinements based on recent acquisitions

    Overview of Responsibilities

    Works as a core member of the Integration Office and as a planning and execution resource for work stream activities related to Employee Experience and Communications:

  • Conducts Target cultural assessment and anticipated change implications as transitioned employees move to the new operating model

  • Develops baseline change management plan with sponsors and Target leaders and support and execute

  • Conducts stakeholder analysis and develops a communications plan that addresses internal and external stakeholders

  • Works with leaders to develop key messaging and prepare for key events/deliverables

  • Produces progress reports on benchmarks, conducts feedback surveys, and develops risk mitigation plans

  • Acts as a "hands-on" resource as required to help teams deliver excellence in content

  • Works with the Corporate Development integration lead and overall team to deliver and refine consistent best practices approaches across all acquisitions

    What you'll bring

    Requirements and Experience

  • Experienced Manager with a background in organizational and workforce management; plus experience in Stakeholder Management and Communications, Change Management and Transformation, Leadership Communications. Ideally, knowledge about Deloitte with client project background work, and exposure to M&A.

  • Strong competencies for developing employee transformation launches and change management, communications planning, writing and project management

  • Strong strategy capability, with an understanding in launching businesses and teams, an ability to lead in collaborative project team environment,

  • Experience in Human Capital M&A, preferably at Deloitte

  • Hands-on approach to plan and execute the change/communications plan and its deliverables

  • Strong writing and presentations skills with ability to translate vision and strategies into key messaging

  • Analytical ability to develop surveys and other feedback/interview tools and extrapolate results

  • Track record of working effectively with teams and business leaders

  • Comfortable owning the quality of tactical deliverables such as plans and communication materials

  • Professionalism as a Corp Dev team member, working across multiple FSSs, Integration Office teams, and with Target team members in an M&A environment

  • Willingness to be flexible in assignments and projects to support Corp Dev success

  • All candidates must be willing and able to travel as needed for their clients, however, depending on staffing needs, most positions are in-office-based with limited travel required. While limited travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.
