Tax Consultant Intern - Mergers & Acquisitions

Work you'll do
As a Deloitte Tax intern, you'll work with diverse and talented teams to help clients analyze the tax effect of complex decisions, reduce overall tax rates, and pursue performance objectives. Daily tasks may include researching complex tax technical issues and assisting our clients with tax due diligence, tax structuring and tax modeling on buy-side and sell-side transactions. During your internship you'll interact with multiple clients, providing you exposure to a variety of organizations and a stronger understanding of applicable tax implications for different clients.
A successful tax intern will be able to:

At Deloitte, our tax consultants provide corporate and private equity buyers with a broad continuum of advisory services to support mergers, acquisitions, carve-outs, investment and financing structures, disposition alternatives and post-transaction activities. Working with clients before, during and after the transaction, tax professionals work with clients across corporate functions such as finance, treasury, human resources, operations, information technology and risk management to analyze and evaluate the tax profile and to implement planning designed to help meet each organization's global goals, strategies and business objectives. • Bachelor of Science/Business Administration in Accounting, Master of Science in Accounting or Taxation or Juris Doctor (JD)
• Definitive plans for meeting minimum educational requirements for Bar exam or CPA eligibility (which may differ from the educational requirements to sit for the CPA exam) in the state of your assigned office location
• Strong academic track record (minimum GPA of 3.0)
• Ability to travel up to 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
• Ability to perform job responsibilities within in a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 - 3 days per week
• The start date for this position will be in Summer 2025
• Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment
• Technology-related coursework highly desirable
• Strong academic track record (GPA of 3.2 or higher)
• Relevant work experience (e.g. internships, summer positions, school jobs)
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $27 to $50.
