Work you ll do

As a Strategic Marketing Planner (SMP), you will oversee strategy and planning for integrated marketing campaigns that support Deloitte Tax business objectives with a focus on digital technology offerings. You will serve as a trusted marketing advisor to tax business leaders and key stakeholders and be responsible for developing strategic marketing plans for best-in-class marketing operations as well as oversight for marketing campaign execution. In addition, as a senior SMP, you will build specific programs, utilizing innovative, go-to-market tools and approaches, to bring the full capabilities of the firm to bear with maximize reach and impact to the market.

Responsibilities include

  • Develops, reviews, maintains, and drives prioritization of tax marketing activities in the tax technology offerings and digital tax growth space

  • Vets requests for marketing support within areas of responsibility

  • Works with Tax Marketing team and stakeholders to initiate and support development of strategic marketing campaigns in support of priorities

  • Coordinates with Internal Communications around initiation and development of strategic marketing campaigns

  • Collaborates with PR team to drive media coverage when applicable

  • Manages the overall portfolio of campaigns and activities to ensure proper prioritization and utilization of appropriate resources

  • Develops strategic briefs (business case) for prioritized marketing campaigns; Drives approval process for campaigns with key leadership

  • Engages other SMPs to coordinate campaign activities and pull in other capabilities, as appropriate

  • Engages Campaign Management in execution of campaigns; oversee, in conjunction with Marketing Services, delivery of campaigns

  • Manages overall marketing calendar, including major campaigns, product/offering launches, major events, and core marketing maintenance activities

  • Plans and manages marketing budgets for campaigns in conjunction with Campaign Management

  • Serves as marketing advisor to key stakeholders within areas of responsibility assists with articulation of value propositions, develops marketing objectives in support of key priorities and serves as connection point across the firm

  • Brings innovative thinking and marketing practices to all marketing activities

  • Along with Marketing Services, develops metrics and KPIs to assess campaign success at the campaign, activity and channel levels to inform future campaign tactics

  • Ability to interact and communicate across variety of stakeholder groups (technical subject matter experts to business owners), with ability to present complex information in easily understandable format and tailored to audience

  • Organized with ability to prioritize and manage client expectations across multiple, competing projects/priorities with aggressive due dates and quick turn-around times

  • Specialized skills and experiences may be required relative to operations/process excellence

  • Knowledge of communications fundamentals with experience leading and managing projects in a global, highly matrixed organization

  • Excellent leadership and management skills

  • Ability to work in a matrixed organization with a virtual team, experience in large corporate setting and/or professional services a plus

  • Demonstrated proficiency in facilitating, delegating and motivating cross functional groups or activities

  • Ability to build and lead a team, both virtually and in-person

  • Persuasive skills and able to gain consensus through influence

  • Demonstrated leadership, maturity and accountability displayed through extra-curricular and community activities

  • Financial management skills and ability to manage budget

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

  • Executive presence, professional client service manner, demonstrated ability to take initiative and interact with all levels of management and adapt to business needs

  • Interpersonal, verbal and presentation skills, including ability to interact with and coach senior leaders and highly intellectual thinkers

  • Negotiation and problem-solving skills; flexibility and adaptability

  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically

  • Collaborative working style to build relationships, including collaborating with multiple business marketing teams, technology teams, sales, and vendors

  • Excellent Outlook, Word/PowerPoint and Excel skills

  • Marketing fundamentals with a focus on marketing strategy/trends and execution in the B2B arena

  • Understanding and demonstrated experience delivering integrated marketing strategies with measurable business results

  • Conceptual and strategic thinker with the ability to balance innovative approaches with business objectives

  • Editing and/or copy editing and proofreading skills; Knowledge of editorial style

  • Proven ability to contribute to (or manage) marketing program execution with consistent delivery of high quality results

  • Proven ability to contribute to communication program execution

  • Proven success in developing and executing external communications strategy and communications plans for a large business, preferably in professional services

  • Marketing and business strategy experience

  • Understanding of capabilities of Web platforms, demand generation, and social media tools;

  • Experience with web development, social media publishing tools, and content management systems a plus - HTML, CMS-especially Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Eloqua

  • Understanding of digital marketing tools and technologies, such as content management systems, analytics tools, video/audio solutions, and more

  • Demonstrated expertise in creative and content direction

  • Experience using social media platforms (including Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, SlideShare, Instagram, YouTube), internet engagement and strategic best practices for reader engagement and user experience

  • Data analytics and visualization tools Tableau

  • Data mining and data analysis skills with the ability to clearly present complex information in a simple manner, discern business meaning and recommended actions to stakeholders

  • Data analytics and visualization tools -Adobe Analytics and social analytics (preferred)

  • Workfront or other MRM experience a plus

  • Project management with detail-oriented with excellent follow-through skills

  • Minimum of a Bachelor s Degree

  • Travel would be in the 5-15% range

  • 12 years of specifically relevant experience required
