Do you want to helporganizations expedite their recovery from crisis events, increase their operationalefficiencies and compliance with grant requirements as well as minimizefinancial, operational, technology and regulatory risks through thetransformation of policies, processes, people and technology infrastructure?

This position is a Project Delivery Model role with responsibility forfacilitatinggrantcompliance monitoring services for grant administration activities related tofederally funded disaster grant programs. Individuals will provide subject-matter knowledge in a widerange of duties directly related to crisis recovery and disaster recoverygrants administration of the Stafford Act or National Flood Insurance Act(NFIA) programs.

Individual shall possessthe experience commensurate with the proven ability to perform the above statedduties.

Project based engagementsare typically multi-year commitments, although the length of the project,the client's commitment to the project, and the continued need for yourservices on the project, are subject to change.

Position is expected tobe based in Houston or Austin withexpectation for daily on-site work from Deloitte or client locations.

Work you ll do:

  • Collaborate with federal, state and local organizations to provide federal disaster recovery and grants management support

  • Attend meetings between the PA applicants and FEMA, representingthe state and applicant s best interests

  • Coordinate with the applicant and FEMA to supply applicabledocumentation to facilitate the formulation and review of project worksheets

  • Discuss potential "404 and 406 mitigation" projects, andimproved and alternate project opportunities with FEMA and applicants - helpingapplicants understand and explore opportunities

  • Work with applicants to understand and implement applicablecompliance requirements such as procurement, contracting, documentation andreporting of DAC, insurance, construction costs, repair costs, structuralissues, architectural, engineering, hazard mitigation and cost estimatingservices.

  • Identify and monitor potential programmatic non-compliance,develop corrective action recommendations and support subgrantees in theresolution

  • Assist in the review and processing of reimbursement requests,processing of fund drawdown and subsequent disbursement of funds to sub grantees

  • Perform review, reconciliation and accounting procedures in accordance with established standards and in an accurate, thorough and timely manner

  • Support in the documentation and articulation of progress reports

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree with preference for a concentration in emergency management, finance, accounting, business administration, construction management, or related field

  • 0-3 years working with disaster related grants or related disaster response and recovery activities

  • Willingness to learn, interpret and apply federal, state, and local polices to specific recovery circumstances

  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Customer service experience with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships

  • Ability to learnnot required with extensive disaster or federal grants management experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing and client presentations

  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite of applications (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

  • Must be organized and be able to handle multiple tasks
