Work You ll Do

Play substantive role in engagement planning, economics, and billing. Attain quality internal and external communications and deliverables, including technical content of reports and proposals. Understand clients' business. Deliver services meeting engagement leader specifications. Participate in add-on sales to clients. Participate in proposal development efforts. Build strong client relationships and ensure ongoing client communication. Utilize knowledge of various commodities markets. Enhance relationships audit and tax professionals and support audit engagements with specialized accounting and industry knowledge. Evaluate, counsel, mentor, and provide feedback on performance of subordinates and assist with recruitment retention of professionals. Will commute within Houston, TX area to perform the above job duties.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).

  • Three years of experience providing technical entity and enterprise accounting, carve-out, or technical accounting, financial planning and analysis.

  • Experience must include three years of:

  • Performing financial analytics in the public utilities and oil & gas industries;

  • Utilizing audit software, including engagement management software to perform tracking and forecasting for engagements, and developing workpapers using specialized audit or accounting software;

  • Auditing financial statements including reviews of quarterly financial information;

  • Utilizing advanced Excel tools including Pivot Tables, VLookup, and macros, and performing technical research of complex accounting issues;

  • Interacting directly with senior management of the team and clients to discuss auditing findings, issues, and resolution of the engagement;

  • Performing audits and applying complex engagements under GAAS, GAAP, IAS, PCAOB, AICPA auditing standards, SOX, and IFRS;

  • Working with complex areas of client's balance sheets and income statements, including goodwill, complex investments, management estimates, income taxes, and asset impairment;

  • Designing, implementing, testing, and assessing deficiencies of internal controls;

  • Mentoring and coaching junior staff; and

  • Applying environmental regulations and regulatory accounting for the Public Utilities and Oil & Gas industries.

  • In the alternative, the employer is willing to accept a Bachelor's degree and five years of experience as noted above.

  • Less than 10% travel outside of normal commuting distance.
