Deloitte Finance & Administration – Payroll (Controls/Accounting) Group Intern (Summer 2019) - Hermitage in Hermitage, Tennessee
We are looking for enthusiastic interns who are eager to learn about how a professional services firm manages various elements of their accounting and finance processes through a global shared service organization. You will enhance your understanding of accounting and finance by observing and participating in various activities for Deloitte s Financial Services Group (FSG). As an intern, you will work with diverse groups of professionals, gain first-hand exposure to the tools, processes, and services we provide in ensuring the accuracy of records.
Work you ll do
Assist in the preparation of account reconciliations related to payroll activities, use analytical skills to research and identify issues at the Firm and Employee level, assist in the gathering of data, and gain first-hand experience in our Fiscal and Personnel Year-End Process. Create, review, and enhance procedural documentation and associated process flowcharts.
The Payroll Controls & Payroll Accounting teams fall under the Deloitte Financial Services Group (FSG). FSG manages various elements of Deloitte's internal accounting and finance processes. The Payroll Accounting and Payroll Controls teams support the firm s payroll department and oversees the controls and proper accounting for payroll related processing. Responsibilities in these areas include performing accounting and analysis for payroll related activities.
Candidate for a bachelor s degree in accounting
Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
Strong experience working in Excel (comfortable with pivot tables and vlookups)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced environment
Action-oriented and ability to manage and meet deadlines
Analytical thinking and the ability to problem solve
Strong academic track record (minimum 3.2 GPA)
Exposure to or general accounting knowledge
