Work you'll do

As an SME – Salesforce Marketing Cloud, you will bring considerable campaign lifecycle management expertise to deliver effective omni-channel marketing campaigns, including communications strategy, customer segmentation, content development, campaign execution, KPI measurement, and performance optimization.

You will bring technical, functional, and product expertise to deliver effective solutions to clients.

  • Marketing Automation expertise in executing implementation and integration of Salesforce Marketing Cloud with database systems to effectively track engagement with marketing automation campaigns

  • Understand digital, social, and mobile marketing trends, utilize industry best-practices to create and enhance our technology stack to create a best-in-class data-driven marketing platform

  • Analyze and optimize campaign management process, enhance omni channel marketing, improve engagement metrics

  • Work cross-functionally to help manage our email marketing projects with multiple internal/external stakeholders to execute marketing campaigns

  • Lead the customization of the platform including workflows, ROI reporting, broadcast emails and segmentation

  • Design and implement changes to existing software architecture including API based integrations

  • Recommend the best solutions and decide the best instances to leverage vendor system capabilities vs building custom solutions


  • Architect Salesforce Marketing Cloud implementations by following best practices and advise clients on implementation & migration activities.

  • Gather and document business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

  • Guide the preparation of data, segments, email creatives and other configurations.

  • Oversee the development, execution, and testing of campaign workflows

  • Monitor and troubleshoot manual and automated campaigns and data activities in case of failures, and notify stakeholders of relevant outcomes, fluctuations, and plans.

  • Generate reports and dashboards indicating various performance metrics and KPIs; you’ll also be responsible for working with the client to define process improvements and enable campaign automation to increase campaign efficiency

  • Manage email deliverability, escalate issues, and work with the email service provider (ESP) to resolve issues with the assistance of other Deloitte technical resources.

  • Develop training material for various processes in marketing operations.


Travel up to 30% (While 30% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.)

Our Advertising, Marketing & Commerce team focuses on delivering marketing and growth objectives aligned with our clients’ brand values for measurable business growth. We do this by creating content, communications, and experiences that engage and inspire their customers to act. We implement and operate the technology platforms that enable personalized content, commerce and marketing user-centric experiences. In doing so, we transform our clients’ marketing and engagement operations into modern, data-driven, creatively focused organizations. Our team brings deep experience in creative and digital marketing capabilities, many from our Digital Studios.

We serve our clients through the following types of work:

  • Cross-channel customer engagement strategy, design and development (web, mobile, social, physical)

  • eCommerce strategy, implementation and operations

  • Marketing Content and digital asset management solutions

  • Marketing Technology and Advertising Technology solutions

  • Marketing analytics implementation and operations

  • Advertising campaign ideation, development and execution

  • Acquisition and engagement campaign ideation, development and execution

  • Agile based, design-thinking, user-centric, empirical projects that accelerate results



  • 5 years' experience in the technology aspects of Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Marketing Cloud Connect

  • Hands on experience with Salesforce Journey Builder, Content Builder, Automation Studio and experience with architecting solutions and develop implementation strategies

  • Experience in metadata generation, customer journeys, data integrations, 3rd party native integrations and custom API integrations

  • Understanding of how people, process and technology drive opportunities while managing costs to ensure consistent performance with a focus on continuous improvement.

  • Good understanding of databases and ability to work with large data sets

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in presenting business use cases as well as issues when they arise

  • Experience working with Agile methodology and using JIRA to manage and update user stories, project tasks, and deliverables

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Travel up to 30% (While 30% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.)

  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.


  • 3 years of hands-on experience with other products in the Salesforce (e.g., Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and Community Cloud) stack

  • Understanding of one (or many) SaaS platforms such as Marketing Automation (Marketo, Eloqua, Salesforce Marketing Cloud), Sales Enablement (Salesforce, Seismic, HubSpot).

  • Proficient in using email testing and rendering tools (e.g., Email on Acid, Litmus)

  • Leveraging Content Management Systems to store, manage version history, and access creative content

  • Proficient in leveraging Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, or other reporting tools to create reports to track campaign and deliverability metrics

  • Experience working in a distributed team (offshore-onsite model)
