Deloitte Systems Programmer (IBM z/OS) in Gilbert, Arizona

Work you ll do

As an IBM Mainframe (z/OS) Systems Programmer, Senior Solution Engineer, within our USDC Cyber Risk team, you will:

Work with Government and Public Service clients to mitigate cyber risk and threats

Identify opportunities for efficiencies in work process and innovative approaches to completing scope of work

Participate in team problem solving efforts and offer ideas to solve client issues

Conduct relevant research, data analysis, and create reports

Maintain responsibility for completion and accuracy of work products

Develop, maintain, and execute security plans that conform to DoD directives

Actively expand consulting skills and professional development through training courses, mentoring, and daily interaction with client

Create and maintain technical documentation for the systems support organization.

Provide planning which includes development of implementation and installation plans for IBM Mainframe projects. The implementation plan should include detailed steps and requirements to successfully implement OSs, software and hardware upgrades, or installations to IBM System z/OS mainframe platform. Develop timelines and milestones related to the required steps for implementation or upgrade of IBM mainframe platform to meet government established project deadlines.

Create and deliver detailed installation/upgrade documentation using government specified software, processes, and formats. This documentation will include detailed dataset names, configuration parameters, and installation/upgrade procedures used to install/upgrade the IBM mainframe OS, software or hardware.

Research, plan, coordinate, document and implement state of the art technologies, especially those available with or built on the IBM z/OS mainframe platform.

Research, plan, document, review, and implement technical and engineering support in the broad range of maintenance and utilization of software with an emphasis on installed IBM z/OS Disaster Recovery.

Assist in the management of the technical life cycle of the z/OS software product, package, or subsystems assigned, including but not limited to: installation, customization, de-installation, analysis, and troubleshooting.

Plan, create, document, review, and revise documentation for disaster recovery.

Ensure that all work is completed using the documented procedures, to include updating and maintain tickets, change requests, and documentation.

Bachelor s Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems Security, CyberSecurity, or related field

7 years' experience with ACF2, CA TSS, and RACF in a large IBM mainframe environment

Proven experience effectively prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and work objectives

Demonstrated ability to write clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience

Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation creation tools, as well as Internet research tools

Deploy measures to protect communications to and from z/OS

Ability to implement system authorization facility (SAF) controls through z/OS resource managers.

Experience in planning, installing, customizing, and implementing Application Transparent Security (ATS) and Transport Layer Security (TSL) with z/OS Policy Agent

Proven experience in planning and configuring the Policy Agent (PAGENT) to manage the rules and policies that define how SSL is used to connect to components under z/OS such as IBM Integration Bus

Experience in planning and configuring z/OS Intrusion Detection Services (IDS) to detect and report on scan attacks

Demonstrated the ability to plan and configure Stack security features under z/OS Communications Server TCP/IP

Ability to plan and configure security for z/OS UNIX System Services daemons, kernel, auditing capabilities, directories and files

ACF2 - Access Control Facility

CA TSS - CA Top Secret Security

RACF - Resource Access Control Facility

Ability to obtain and maintain the required clearance for this role - Secret Clearance Required

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future


Previous Federal Consulting experience

Understanding of fundamental cloud computing concepts

Experience with Information Assurance concepts and processes within the Federal government

Knowledge of and experience with Federal security regulations, standards, and processes including FISMA, FIPS, NIST, and FedRAMP

CompTIA Security Certification
