Job Description: Pod Manager
Pod Manager
As a pod manager, you will be responsible for the support of all activities related to the support the client's portfolio. This entails service excellence, project onboarding, continuous improvement, pricing, solution architecture, Statement of Work (SOW)s, request for proposal responses/collateral, and cost recovery. Additionally, you be responsible for managing pod resources, workload distribution, and staffing. To be successful, you must develop and maintain strong relationships with the Deloitte practice, proactively drive revenue opportunities, and identify/address practitioner support needs.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and guidance to pod team members
Work with Service Delivery Manager (SDM)s and Principal Partner Managing Director (PPMD)s to manage client relationships and communications
Notify team members and project leadership of any potential escalations related to the project delivery
Work with DevOps resources and technical leads to improve their skills and identify growth and leadership opportunities
Support the pricing, proposal, and SOW process for pod-related projects
Work with Cloud Managed Services (CMS) leadership to provide forecasting of sales and resource demand for pod staffing
Work with CMS platform teams to resolve issues or gaps identified in platform capabilities that impact project delivery
Work with the GCO team to schedule and deliver automated reporting required by pod teams for clients and CMS leadership
Work with architects and Pod Operation Managers to manage engagement staffing and interviews for pod positions
Be aware of the scope of the project and onboard all needed support for each assigned project
Be aware of the project's turnaround time commitments for each assigned task
Be aware of upcoming technical support activities for assigned pod projects, such as patching,
Disaster Recovery (DR) tests, upgrades, build dates, etc.; work with the Service Delivery Manager and Architects to plan for these tasks
Review the completeness and quality of all project documentation pertaining to the work
completed by team members
Be engaged for any P1 ticket for your client, making communication decision for outages exceeding one hour
As per the defined outage P1 communication plan, keep all stakeholders and management apprised of statuses
Work with pod leadership and CMS finance team to support the financial reporting process through forecasting of resources, review of time entries, and management of infrastructure costs for projects
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or four years equivalent professional experience
At least 8 years of relevant technology architecture consulting or industry experience
Extensive experience (minimum of five years) managing projects of varying sizes
Broad technical background with knowledge of systems sizing and architecture

Extensive experience with project management software (intermediate to advanced-level knowledge of Microsoft Project)
Experience developing statements of work and client proposals
Creative person who has developed innovative approaches to developing solutions
Goal oriented with high standards for quality and performance
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and oral/written communication skills
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
Eagerness to mentor junior staff
Skills desired
Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for custom development projects; working in a production support organization using Middleware, Open Source, and Microsoft packages
Project Management Institute (PMI) certification
Prior Big Four consulting experience highly desired
An advanced degree in the area of specialization
