Work you'll do

  • As a Deloitte Data Engineer, you will prepare analytics and data to obtain answers to business questions.

  • Design, develop, construct, test, and maintain architectures to process data and operate data-driven analytics in support of mission and business functions.

  • Discover opportunities for data acquisition.

  • Develop data set processes for data modeling, mining, and production.

  • Employ a variety of languages and tools (e.g., scripting languages) to marry systems together.

  • Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.

  • Conduct research to answer mission and business questions.

  • Leverage large volumes of data from multiple sources to answer mission and business questions.

  • Employ sophisticated analytics, programs, machine learning, and statistical methods to prepare date for use in analytical processes and prescriptive modeling.

  • Explore and examine data for hidden patterns.

  • Automate work through the use of predictive and prescriptive analytics.

  • Develop processes to extract/transform/load (ETL) data between different systems.

  • Document results and prepare reports based on analysis that explain the data and results in terms meaningful to stakeholders.

The GPS Analytics and Cognitive (A&C) offering is responsible for developing advanced analytics products and applying data visualization and statistical programming tools to enterprise data in order to advance and enable the key mission outcomes for our clients. Our team supports all phases of analytic work product development, from the identification of key business questions through data collection and ETL, and from performing analyses and using a wide range of statistical, machine learning, and applied mathematical techniques to delivery insights to decision-makers. Our practitioners give special attention to the interplay between data and the business processes that produce it and the decision-makers that consume insights.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science or other technical field

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required

  • Some experience with programming languages (Python, etc.)

  • Some experience with AI Strategy

  • 6+ years experience in software development/engineering

  • 4+ years experience in data engineering and technical data analysis.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

    Preferred:

  • Experience working within the IC

  • Ability to solve complex problems, improve business operations, and manage the complexity inherent with technology change

  • 6+ years experience working with data engineering in multi-intelligence analytics

  • Proven experience working with large data and predictive analytics

  • Should be familiar with Agile processes and structures and able to work on a software development team.
