Work you'll do:
Prepare Cost Projection calculations to estimate the tax costs associated with tax-equalized expat assignments.
Coordinate review of employee cost projection host tax calculation with host firm GES teams.
Manage the U.S. and Foreign tax remittances to the appropriate tax authority – direct payment, reimbursement to the Member Firm, or as a cash advance to the expat.
Monitor foreign taxes to ensure completeness and work with the appropriate U.S. and Member Firm teams to resolve any issues.
Analyze U.S. and Foreign tax costs to tax estimates, perform in-depth variance analysis, trend analysis, and identify possible tax reporting errors.
Review and process tax equalization settlements for our outbound expatriates. Manage any amount due to/due from the expat.
Process periodic tax accruals and settle assignment related tax costs, with the funding parties, when the assignment is finalized.
Oversee the host country tax escrow program for assignments that are not tax equalized.
Develop and display a strong understanding of the Deloitte mobility policies, accounting standards, and tax treatment of all activity related to the expatriate population.
Provide leadership and support to other members of the tax analysis team.
Develop creative solutions to solve problems and meet varying business needs.
Understand the policies that affect expatriates.
Create consistent but flexible processes, establish process standards, develop process controls supported by period audits, identify and implement process improvements to support the tax process.
Ensure that the firm’s accounting practices and policies are followed. Participate in special projects on an “as needed” basis.
