Financial Services Industry Senior Manager

The Deloitte Encore Program is specifically designed to enable seasoned professionals who have left the workforce for two or more years to return to work. This paid, fourteen-week program offers an opportunity to enhance your skills while providing you a role in a client service environment. A network of Deloitte professionals will be assigned to provide you with relevant training and mentorship and will help support your professional growth while you gain hands-on experience.

About Deloitte s Financial Services Industry (FSI)

The US Financial Services Industry (FSI) Consulting group includes Banking and Capital Markets, Insurance, Investment Management, and Real Estate. Our Financial Services Industry (FSI) practice brings together multidisciplinary capabilities and teams of client service professionals with diverse experience and knowledge to provide customized solutions for our clients. Our practitioners are further aligned to specific capability groups, offering our Financial Services clients a host of services ranging from data driven analysis to key market insights as we help them manage day-to-day operations as well as long term business complexities.

Banking and Capital Markets (BCM)

As a leader in providing professional services to the Banking and Securities industry, Deloitte works with its clients to address a range of issues including shifting industry landscape, FinTech disruption/innovation acceleration, increasing regulatory demands, and performance improvement. Our cross-functional industry group is comprised of more than 8,600 professionals, providing a spectrum of assurance and advisory, tax, enterprise risk, regulatory, and consulting services to banking and securities companies. Deloitte s Banking & Capital Markets' growth is expected to accelerate to about 7% through 2020.

Insurance

As leaders in providing professional services to the Insurance industry, Deloitte works with clients to address a range of critical issues brought on by globalization, advances in technology, regulatory changes, competition, and the changing demands of their customers. Our national cross-functional industry group is comprised of more than 2,300 professionals, providing a spectrum of assurance and advisory, enterprise risk, tax, actuarial, regulatory, and consulting services to a broad range of insurance companies.

Investment Management and Real Estate

As leaders in providing professional services to the Investment Management industry, Deloitte works with clients to address a range of critical issues brought on by regulatory changes, competition, globalization, advances in technology, and the changing demands of their customers. Our cross-functional industry group is comprised of over 8,000 partners, managers and staff, providing a spectrum of assurance and advisory, tax, enterprise risk, regulatory and consulting services to a broad range of investment management companies.

Work you ll do:

As a Senior Manager you will contribute to the firm's growth and development in a variety of ways, including:

Engagement Management: Lead engagement planning and budgeting; mobilize and manage engagement teams; define deliverable structure and content; facilitate buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client; direct on-time, quality delivery of work products; manage engagement economics; manage engagement risk

Client Management: Manage day to day interactions with executive clients and sponsors

Business Development: Develop and maintain contact with top decision makers at key clients; organize and lead pursuit teams; participate and lead aspects of the proposal development process; contribute to the development of proposal pricing strategies

Practice Development & Eminence: Develop practical solutions and methodologies; assist in developing "thoughtware" and "point- of-view" documents; participate in public speaking events; get published in industry periodicals

People Development: Perform role of counselor and coach; provide input and guidance into the staffing process; actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities; provide leadership and support for delivery teams and staff in local offices

Qualifications

Required

8 years of relevant consulting or financial industry experience required

A Bachelor's Degree is required and an advanced degree is preferred

Ability to work independently, manage small engagements or parts of large engagements

Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment

Willingness to mentor junior staff

Willingness to travel 60-80% of the time (Monday Wednesday/Thursday)

Preferred

Technical Skills:

oBig data / data integration / data warehouse expertise

oIMRE Platform skills / experience (e.g., Aladdin, CharlesRiver, Salesforce, Calypso, Bloomberg AIM etc.)

oRisk and Finance architecture / platform skills (e.g., Oracle / Workday) LoanIQ expertise

oD H payment hub expertise

oExperience with Guidewire - Suite (Policy, Billing, Claims), Digital/Portal, Integration

oExperience with SmartCommunications CCM

Functional Skills:

oExperience in Capital Markets Operations and Technology

oCore banking resources with both deposit and loan servicing expertise

oAnalytics expertise in Banking & Capital Markets

oExperience with requirements solicitation/management

oP&C insurance product knowledge (product models - coverages, exclusions, limits, etc.; rating; forms)

oExperience with agile delivery, SAFe scaled agile, agile transformation

oPortfolio management, operation models and systems, investment compliance, research, performance, portfolio accounting
