Deloitte CEO Communications Manager in Detroit, Michigan

What you'll do:

As an integral part of the Deloitte Risk & Financial Advisory Communications team, the CEO Communications Manager will work closely with firm leaders and communications colleagues to plan and execute the CEO communications program.

The successful candidate will be a strong writer, team player, creative thinker, and proactive practitioner with the ability to work with senior executives. This individual will have an execution-oriented mindset with superb organizational skills, and the ability to work at both strategic and tactical levels to deliver high-value communications results.

Examples of responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute CEO internal communications strategy, in collaboration with the Risk & Financial Advisory Communications leader, communications colleagues, and the Office of the CEO

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leaders while identifying and implementing creative internal communications programs to engage the 15,000+ person Risk & Financial Advisory practice

  • Write and/or edit leadership communications, effectively capturing the voice and strategic priorities of the leader

  • Serve as liaison to the Office of the CEO, tracking day-to-day communication activities such as speaking engagements, internal communications, media and events

  • Create talking points, remarks, question-and-answer preparation, video scripts and related deliverables in support of the CEO's speaking opportunities and meetings

  • Plan and execute CEO webcasts and live video broadcasts

  • Manage CEO video productions with internal resources and external vendors, including content development and post-production reviews.

  • Provide planning and day-of support for large-scale leadership meetings and town halls

  • Provide internal communications support within other areas of the Risk & Financial Advisory business, as needed

  • Design, track, and report internal metrics and results of initiatives to demonstrate impact

Qualifications:

  • Communications professional with a minimum of 7-10 years relevant experience

  • A Bachelor's degree, preferably in Communications, English, Public Relations or Journalism, is required

  • Proven success in developing and executing internal communications strategies for senior executives within a large business, preferably in professional services

  • Ability to communicate effectively with clarity and precision in both written and verbal capacities

  • Broad thinking capable of making connections across the business and taking decisive action

  • Strong writing, editing, and copy-editing skills and previous writing/editing experience in corporate communications, PR, or journalism fields required

  • Strong executive presence and comfort working with and advising senior management

  • Experience in successfully managing and delivering sensitive, crisis, and executive communications requests in a large-scale corporate environment

  • Strong organizational and coordination skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to build strong relationships and maintain a positive composure reflective of the Office of the CEO during leadership meetings

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and change

  • Travel up to 20% (While 20% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice)
