Work you'll do
As an Intern, you will work internal teams to enhance and customize Deloitte's technology assets to address the needs of our clients. You will be required to research, collaborate, and report out on risks and mitigating factors associated with software development. The position provides an excellent opportunity to:
Analyze and implement user requirements/business needs as new and/or enhanced product functionality
Design, code, test, and document software code
Assist in the packaging and delivery of finished software products to clients
Communicate with technical and business leaders on business requirements, system-related capabilities, programming progress, and enhancement status
Assist in supporting the client by providing technical product support to them, help them configure the application in their environment, help debug issues, etc.
Assist in the maintenance of the hosted products and environments
Learn new technologies and help the team implement them in our products
Facilitate use of technology-based tools or methodologies to analyze, design, and/or implement products and services
Build and nurture positive working relationships with clients with the intention to exceed client expectations
The desired candidate for this role is analytical and detail oriented, with a strong drive to learn new technologies. They will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and while they will be team oriented, they will also be able to work independently as needed.

You will be working directly with senior level team members that are assigned to one or more technology asset, with the focus on enhancement or customization to meet the needs of our clients. Pursuing a Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
A strong understanding of Windows and Linux/Ubuntu based server operating systems.
Good understanding and/or experience working with Relational Database Management Systems and No-SQL database technologies like Microsoft SQL server and MongoDB
Ability to travel up to 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
Strong academic track record (GPA of 3.2 or above)
Relevant work experience (e.g., internships, summer positions, school jobs)
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Exposure to DevOps practices and tools. Good to have experience in building and maintaining fully automated Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines in Microsoft Azure DevOps, GitHub, JIRA, or other similar technologies
Exposure to developing cloud-based applications in a micro-services architecture would be a plus
Exposure to public cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS or Google Cloud)
Real world software development experience including good working experience and/or understanding of different software design patterns and Object Oriented Programming principals

This compensation range is specific to California, Colorado, Jersey City, Nevada, New York City, and Washington State and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $40.87 to $43.27.
