Systems Engineering Program Manager -Senior Consultant

Work You ll Do

As a Systems Engineering ProgramManager, Senior Consultant you will bring strong and in-depth functional andproject management solutions to clients with a focus onachievinga high level of performance and quality, anddelivery of both agile and traditional projects that provideexceptional business value to users.Our projects are both large and complex. You will have the technical foundation and knowledge to work with a coregroup of technology professionals. You will:

  • Manage day-to-day interactions withexecutive clients and sponsors;

  • Manage and deliver components ofclient engagements that identify, design, and implement technology and creativebusiness solutions for large companies;

  • Manage small teams in theidentification of business requirements, functional design, process design(including scenario design, flow mapping), prototyping, testing, training,defining support procedures. Your background in technology will give you thefoundation to manage these streams but also understand the technology;

  • Manage several concurrent high visibility projects using agilemethods in a fast-paced environment potentially crossing multiple businessdivisions;

  • Use good judgment and skill to develop a project managementapproach suitable for planning and managing the effort;

  • Coach members of the team as needed to optimize efficiency ofthe project team

  • Create and develop project scope andschedule. Plan and assign resources toassociated tasks and deliverables;

  • Monitor progress of the project,identify and quantify variances, perform required corrective actions;

  • Manage changes to project scope,project schedule, and project costs to keep the project plan accurate, updated,as defined in the change management plan;

  • Identify high-level risks,assumptions, and constraints. Implementapproved actions and workarounds to minimize the impact of risks on theproject;

  • Develop and maintain communicationwith key project stakeholders and decision makers;

  • Achieve project goals within designated project constraints.

Systems Engineering

Our Systems Engineering team deliverslarge-scale global transformation initiatives focusing on both technology and process,and assists clients with architecture design, assessment and optimization, anddefinition. We develop service-orientedarchitecture (SOA) and other integration solutions to enable informationsharing and management between business partners and disparate processes andsystems, and we deliver technology enablement to support CIO servicestransformation.

Systems Engineering professionalsfocus on key client issues impacting the core business by maximizingoperational value, driving down the cost of quality, and enhancing technologyinnovation. Our teams deliver a wide range of services, including applicationarchitecture design and optimization, application modernization, businessprocess management and solution integration, custom application design and development,and large-scale technology delivery program efforts.

Qualifications

Systems Engineering Program Manager,Senior Consultant candidates are required to have:

  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models aswell as strong knowledge of both Agile and traditional project managementprinciples and practices and the ability to blend them together in the rightproportions to fit a project and business environment;

  • 5 years of relevantmanagement consulting or industry experience;

  • 3 years planning and managing projectinitiatives in a Project Management Office or similar team environment workingon custom software development-related projects;

  • 3 years of experience with ProjectManagement Tools such as Microsoft Project and Microsoft SharePoint;

  • 3 years of experience withRequirements Management and Traceability tools such as the IBM Rational suiteand HP Quality Center;

  • 3 years of experience translatingrequirements into optimized designs and identifying alternatives;

  • A proven track record of successfully implementing projectsusing Agile methodologies including 5 years of experience as a Project Managermanaging large, complex projects in a high-tech development environment withmulti-function teams;

  • Travel up to 80% (While 80% of travelis a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has beensuspended until further notice.)

  • Must be legally authorized to work inthe United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any timein the future.

Inaddition, successful Senior Consultants will have the following preferredbackground:

  • Experience leading fit gap analysisfor migrating applications to Cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services(AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud or Force.com;

  • Experience participating in thetesting of applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure,Force.com and/or Google Cloud Platforms;

  • Experience with agile tools such asRally and Jira;

  • Experience leading small teams;

  • Experience in work planning, monitoring,and reporting;

  • Experience managing requirementsprocesses including conducting interviews and documenting technicalrequirements;

  • Experience managing design activitiesincluding design sessions and defining future state processes;

  • Experience managing vendors andservice providers;

  • Experience working with and managingonshore, offshore and remote teams;

  • Experience with industry standardSystem Development Life Cycle methodologies;

  • PMP certification is stronglypreferred;

  • Prior experience with SCRUM/Agilemethodologies with enterprise-level application development projects. PMI-ACP,CSM, or equivalent preferred;

  • Bachelor sDegree or equivalent experience in a technical discipline (computer science,engineering, etc.)
