Deloitte Defect and Reporting Coordinator in Denver, Colorado

Work you'll do/Responsibilities

Deloitte is a key partner with the 2nd largest cable company in the US and is actively expanding its presence in the Technology Services division. As part of this expansion we are seeking to hire a Defect and Reporting Coordinator, who will have the opportunity to develop front and backend applications and closely working with our Client's Development, Test, SMEs and Operation teams.

The Team

The US Systems Engineering Offering delivers large scale software applications and integrated systems and assists its clients with architecture design, assessment and optimization, and definition. The practice aims at developing service-oriented architecture (SOA) and other integration solutions to enable information sharing and management between business partners and disparate processes and systems. It would focus on key client issues that impact the core business by delivering operational value, driving down the cost of quality, and enhancing technology innovation.



  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Spectrum Mobile program and what value it presents to customers

  • Support facilitating and reporting for daily defect management calls to classify new defects and assess whether issues would be severe enough to prevent a project launch

  • Track all defects and report on status towards resolution utilizing HP ALM software and smartsheet

  • Join triage calls with development teams, as necessary, to ensure that defects are being pushed towards resolution in a timely and effective manner

  • Capture critical metrics on all defects raised on a monthly basis to better understand trends and gaps that exist within development and testing (release health)

  • Present key defect metric findings to client executive leadership to provide them with deep insight as to how to improve the efficiency of their release deployment processes

  • Work closely with the IE Reporting and Operations team to consolidate all defect metrics and release information in Test Workbench

  • Oversee a backlog defect management process to prioritize issues for a development fix using business stakeholder feedback

  • Maintain all backlog defect updates and analysis in consolidated smartsheet report

  • Organize and facilitate sessions with stakeholders, developers, and testers to address the queue of backlog defects

  • Develop a data-driven, weekly report which provides client VPs with clear visibility into the progress of all backlog defect efforts

  • General technical acumen - you don't need to be a developer, but you do need to be able to communicate with them effectively and understand software development concepts

  • Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and organization skills

  • Experience with process development and implementation

  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing program needs/timelines

  • Can empathize with stakeholder/consumer pain points and is driven to solve these critical issues

  • Is intellectually curious and thrives in a collaborative team setting

  • Is able to establish a good rapport with Product stakeholders, software development team members, and testing teams

  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Must be willing to live in or relocate to Denver, CO.

  • Ability to work in a diverse, fast paced environment and effectively collaborate across teams

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously

  • Ability to understand impact of new requests or projects to current application interoperability and communicate impact to internal and external teams

  • Effective Communication and Presentation skills

  • Experience or has good understanding of Cable and Telco domain

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Colorado, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and delivery model. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top end of the range, but such a decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the range is $58,000 to $72,000 .
