Sr. Cloud Data Engineer
At Human Experiences (Hux) by Deloitte Digital, we aim at delivering elevated human experience by re-inventing digital advertising & marketing, powered by data, AI/ML and content. Hux is a proprietary product suite of Deloitte assets and accelerators that work in cohort with leading cloud and software technologies, that enables our clients to better understand customers and use data science & analytics to deliver personalized, omni channel experiences. Hux itself is built on three platforms and customer data management (CDM) is one of them.
This position is with the CDM team. CDM is the core platform and is considered as the heart of HUX. CDM assets are center around data ingestion and integration, identity resolution, sector-specific customer data models, machine learning blueprints for customer lifetime value calculation, churn propensity, next based actions, and audience segmentations. We help clients deliver dynamic, personalized customer experiences across all engagement channels using machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Lead cross-functional initiatives working with multiple, distributed teams
Deep experience in design, build, automate, deploy, and support scalable data pipelines, systems, and APIs for AdTech and MarTech products
Produce high quality code that is robust, efficient, testable, and easy to maintain
Deliver operational automation and tooling to minimize repeated manual tasks
Participate in code reviews, give actionable feedback, and mentor junior team members
Combine leading open-source tooling and techniques with a suite of customer experience libraries and solutions, which automate the management of cross-channel communications with consumers for large clients.
Influence product and cross-functional teams to identify data opportunities to drive impact
Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
8+ years of solid software engineering experience in Python.
5+ years of experience in data engineering with an emphasis on data analytics and reporting
5+ years of experience with at least one of the public cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
5+ years of experience in SQL, data transformations, statistical analysis, and troubleshooting with at least one cloud Database Platform (Snowflake, PostgreSQL, Redshift, Azure SQL Warehouse, etc.)
5+ years of experience in the design and build of data extraction, transformation, and loading processes by writing custom data pipelines.
Experience with modern software development practices, leveraging CI/CD and containerization
Self-driven with a passion for learning and implementing new technologies
A history of working collaboratively with a cross-functional team of engineers, data scientists and product managers
Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
Ability to travel up to 30%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
Experience working in a product engineering environment
Software Engineering experience with Java
Experience with big data frameworks (Spark, etc.)
Knowledge/interest in data science & machine learning
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $114,000 to $190,000.
