This team is the convener/connector of ESG activity within Deloitte (Business, Industry, and Enabling Areas). This is a cross-functional and cross-business team with high visibility across the firm.

ESG has become very important to our clients as they experience increasing levels of environmental risk; changing societal norms; and advocacy from investors, regulators, and consumers. The Sustainability, Climate and Equity team will capitalize on cross-business opportunities, rapidly scale and strengthen our capabilities, and align with our firm's core commitment to sustainability and climate change. As a top priority for the firm, Service Group Offerings (SGOs) tackle the most transformative forces affecting our clients, and drive impact at scale across multiple Businesses through significant investment.

Work You'll Do:

As a member of the Sustainability, Climate and Equity team, this role is primarily focused on efforts related to strategy and commercialization - accelerating our clients' successful sustainability transformations and building strategy, market opportunities, marketing, and eminence to drive Deloitte's ESG efforts. The strategy and commercialization pillar has responsibility for setting the direction and leading the marketplace impact of the firm's work in climate and sustainability; social equity and inclusion; and social capitalism governance across Deloitte's US Audit & Assurance, Advisory, Consulting, and Tax businesses. The team plays a key role in helping identify ways we can build market leading, "whole of Deloitte" offerings and solutions to assist clients make measurable progress to transition their organizations for success in a low carbon and more inclusive and open future.

This role will work closely with the SGO Leader for Commercialization and Strategy and interact with senior leaders within the SGO and across Businesses, Industries, and Enabling Areas, while balancing operational activities. This role will assist in various special, top priority projects with potential to significantly impact our organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve the strategy and commercialization pillars of the SGO by coordinating and/or driving essential activities across the SGO, including foundational initiatives related to strategy, eminence and market insights, marketing, ecosystem bold plays, partnerships, etc., and acting as a trusted advisor to our market leaders

  • Support the Strategy and Commercialization Leader with all market facing activities that they are leading including senior client meetings, pursuits, engagement leadership, conferences and events, and marketing programs

  • Coordinate and support special projects and strategic initiatives, which may include market research, offering development, eminence, and asset strategy

  • Support the SGO in developing and executing the overall ESG strategy in support of the business case

  • Shape market and pursuit opportunities, in collaboration with sales enablement and assets/technology and alliance teams, including providing strategic support to advance large ecosystem/multi-stakeholder initiatives, proactive outreach and networking, and supporting pursuit and engagement teams to achieve greater marketplace success

  • Engage and collaborate with relevant practice areas and leaders across the US and Global firms in our joint effort to advance SCE aspirations and impact

  • Develop executive level presentations and reports, and lead the preparation of meeting agendas and materials for various leadership and team meetings

  • Support ESG leadership team in ensuring that the strategy and commercialization team delivers on its goals and targets

  • Oversee and suggest improvement of administrative and operational activities and processes

Qualifications:

Required:

  • BA/BS degree

  • 8+ years of prior work experience

  • Limited travel (while up to 25% of travel may be necessary for the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice)

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now, or at any time in the near future.

Preferred:

  • MBA/MS or other relevant advanced degree from a top tier program

  • Sustainability-related experience and/or knowledge of climate change, ESG, and corporate strategy trends and challenges

  • Client service and/or strategy, eminence, and marketing experience

  • Strong executive presence with a client service mentality and ability to develop high degree of trust with key internal client base

  • High level of proficiency in developing executive level communications/presentations

  • Ability to proactively manage multiple workstreams and deliverables with aggressive due dates simultaneously

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to succeed in both team-based and independent environments

  • Demonstrated experience managing small teams to deliver results

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Colorado, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and delivery model. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top end of the range, but such a decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the range is $115,030 to $211,850.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
