Work you'll do

As a Government Health Actuary - Consultant in Deloitte's Human Capital Actuarial and Insurance Solutions Practice, you will assist Deloitte Managers, Senior Managers, and Partners in providing strategic and technical consulting services to Federal and State governments, employer groups, and other public entities.

The Organization Transformation offering (OT) focuses on transforming the organization (and the providers that serve them) to support its business strategy. This includes changing the organization's culture, modernizing specific functions and re-designing the structure of an organization. Organization Transformation can occur at the enterprise, business unit, or functional level, involves both employers and providers across the Human Capital ecosystem, and requires a combination of change management actions to execute the transformation.

Qualifications

Required:

• 3 year + of health actuary experience and consulting and/or health plan/insurance company experience

• ASA with progression to FSA, FSA, or career ASA designation

• Ability to travel 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

• Bachelor's Degree Required

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

• 1 year + experience with Medicaid managed care rate setting

Preferred:

• 1 year + experience leading teams

• 1 year + experience with Medicaid waivers (i.e., 1115, 1915 b/c, 1332)

• 1 year +experience with risk adjustment mechanisms

• 1 year + experience with health care reform and working knowledge of the individual medical and small group markets

• 1 year + experience with Medicare products, including Medicare Advantage or Medicare Supplement products for various enrollee types

• 1+ years experience with group insurance products including disability, long term care, etc.

• 1 year + experience with product design and/or product strategy

• 1 year + experience with reimbursement models â€" including value based care/ACO modeling

• Ability to program using SQL

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $80,550 to $134,250.
