Work you'll do

As an Associate in Deloitte's Legal Business Services function, you will work on corporate legal department engagements for Fortune 1000/FTSE 100/Global 5000 clients. You will be an integral team member, supporting ongoing contract review, drafting, negotiation, and ongoing obligations management engagements. As a team member supporting these activities you will be leveraging contract lifecycle management technologies and be expected to deliver in accordance with both quantitative (i.e. contract request turnaround time) and qualitative (i.e. contract review and drafting accuracy) key performance indicators. You will embrace opportunities to drive efficiencies and continuous improvement into your engagement delivery.

Responsibilities include:

  • Review, abstract, draft, redline, negotiate a broad range of commercial contractual agreements, including but not limited to: NDAs, MSAs, SOWs, licensing agreements, distributions agreements, data protection agreements, marketing agreements, and sponsorship agreements.

  • Delivery the above activities in accordance with agreed upon key performance indicators tracking speed, efficiency, and accuracy.

  • If necessary, support the reviewing and updating of contract negotiation playbooks.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Strong substantive understanding of general commercial contractual agreements and the key clauses typically found in these agreements i.e. limitation of liability, indemnification, warranties, termination etc.

  • Two or more years' experience reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and managing general commercial contractual agreements.

  • Level of familiarity with technology and its application in the contract lifecycle management field

  • Strong Microsoft Office and other technology skills including, but not limited to, Excel, PPT, Visio, Power BI, Tableau.

  • Ability to travel 20%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.

  • One of the following accreditations obtained, in process, or willing able to obtain:

  • Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA

  • If not CPA eligible:

  • Licensed attorney

  • Enrolled Agent

  • Superior client presentation skills

  • High level of attention to detail

  • Strong analytical and reporting skills

  • Willingness to travel domestically

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Colorado or Nevada, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and the State of Nevada and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65,800 to $122,200.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
