Work you'll do

A Release Manager is responsible for providing structured and transparent release management - working with Account Managers, Product Management, and Product Development to coordinate the technical requirements and change management for frequent product feature releases. They are excellent communicators, organized and solution focused. A release manager understands the software development life cycle and ensures proper procedures and best practices are being utilized. Additionally, they are pro-active in the support of their clients and work collaboratively with all teams for amazing outcomes.

You will:

  • Work with product development teams to implement application build and deployment processes and deployment pipelines

  • Provide structured and transparent Release Management, Change Management and Problem Management processes that maximize quality, traceability, and automation

  • Support product feature release management across the development life cycle through to production deployment

  • Coordinate with application and system development engineers to trouble shoot and resolve deployment issues

  • Work with Infrastructure and Change Advisory Board to streamline release processes while maintaining process compliance

  • Work with Account Management to manage the overall communication relating to product new feature releases, enhancements, and system patches for production implementation

  • Manage communication across the product suite to improve development, testing, and documentation standards to ensure a consistent standard of deployment

  • Provide business analysis for continuous process improvement for Release Management

  • Plan and oversee bi-weekly feature release change management and test scheduling

  • Meet with the stakeholders to validate achieved milestones and approval decisions for releases

  • Meet regularly or as needed with project teams to ensure appropriate involvement in project planning and definition of scope

  • Deliver project, program and leadership updates

    Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information systems, or other technology-related field

  • 3 - 4 years of experience as a Release Management Engineer with Agile deployment knowledge / approaches

  • Minimum 5+ years in the IT industry

  • Experience working in a product-based environment

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication

  • Empathetic and collaborative

  • Ability to thrive in a varied, fast-paced environment

  • Understanding of core Change Management / Release Management best practices within a CI/CD environment

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and solving complex problems

  • Experience mentoring and coaching others

    **Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred:

  • Software development / systems integration experience

  • Experience with Atlassian tool stack: Jira/Confluence/BitBucket
