What you ll do
As a Security Solution Dev Manager/Architect - Manager, you willbe responsible for driving forward strategic initiatives representing security solution architecture, and helping champion solutions with key business and technology stakeholders. This is a highly visible opportunity to leverage your significant architecture and expertise!We need a passionate leader who can:
Own the security solution architecture for capabilities associated with strategic initiatives.
Participate in strategic discussions with key business stakeholders, and facilitate consensus regarding technical direction when required to move initiatives forward.
Plan and implement application security measures to protect computer systems, networks, and data; and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and business units to investigate, implement, and support existing and future solutions.
Through careful review of STAC s technology and information systems, provide guidance and recommendations related to application security architecture and lead proof of concept projects.
Determine security requirements by evaluating business strategies and requirements, research information security standards, conduct system security and vulnerability analyses, and identify integration issues.
Develop and provide guidance during architecture design activities of new and existing applications; this includes risk and impact assessments and ensuring adherence to documented company standards, policies, and regulatory responsibilities.
Plan security systems by evaluating cloud and security technologies:
Develop requirements for cloud public networks, virtual private networks (VPNs), routers, firewalls, and related security and network devices.
Maintain familiarity with certification of authorities (CAs) and digital signatures as well as hardware and software; adhering to industry standards.
Act as the subject matter expert on strengths and weaknesses of the systems and recommend improvements to both software and hardware.
Identify security architecture capabilities and design security architecture patterns to mitigate threats.
Assess emerging technologies against security architecture to determine where they fill gaps, overlap with existing solutions, or extend capabilities.
Perform research, development, and prototyping activities either directly or in an oversight capacity to manage risk and validate technology options and approach as necessary.
Communicate implications of design decisions, technology costs, benefits, and implementation requirements to business and IT leadership.
Provide input to the development of project initiation documents including objectives, scope, approach, estimates, and deliverables, when needed.
Work closely with our DevOps teams in defining approaches for deployment and support for new technology solutions.
Seek out and capitalize on opportunities to improve productivity, time-to-market, solutions quality, and cost effectiveness.
Anticipate barriers to change and create opportunities to remove them.
Exhibit a high level of professional flexibility and volunteer innovation and new ideas.
Mentor dev managers, technical leads, and developers.
Present on key technology topics to the broader tax community.
Deloitte Tax LLP's National Chief Technology & Process Office (CTPO) is responsible for the design, development, and deployment of technology, tools, and standard processes to support the delivery of Tax services. The CTPO team is focused on enhancing Deloitte Tax LLP's ability to deliver comprehensive, value-added, and efficient Tax services to our clients. It is a dynamic team with professionals of varying backgrounds from tax technical, technology development, change management, Six Sigma, and project management. The team consults and executes on a wide range of initiatives involving process and tool development and implementation including training development, engagement management, tool design, and implementation.
Our Strategic Tax Application Center (STAC) within CTPO is greatly expanding as a result of the success we have had delivering technology-enabled tax products and services to our clients. STAC focuses on building the next generation tax platform and suite of tax modules to deliver premiere tax service offerings and technology solutions to our tax practitioners and clients. There is a growing demand from our clients, and within our tax platform, for greater levels of functionality and scalability around data management, analytics, and reporting. This is an ideal opportunity to be part of a cutting-edge and innovative environment within the larger Deloitte Tax organization.
Minimum 5 years experience as a Security architect, engineer, or consultant
Minimum 7 years in system security administration, architecture, or information management
End-to-end understanding of the software development lifecycle
Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
Design and implementation knowledge of network protocols and architecture (SSL, TCP/UDP, HTTPS, FTP/SFTP, NTP, Telnet, NFS, SSH, LDAP, etc.)
Familiarity with security industry standards (ISO 17799, ISO 27001/2, ISO 31000, NIST 800 series, etc.)
Familiarity with routing, switching configurations and management, firewalls, DHCP, WINS, DNS, and wireless services
Experience with internal controls, risk assessments, business process, and internal IT control testing or operational auditing
Experience in defining and implementing cloud security and solid understanding of best practices
Demonstrated ability leading programs
Influencing experience at senior levels within an organization
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Industry experiences in financial services, high-tech, and /or healthcare preferred
Bachelor's degree (computer science or computer engineering preferred)
Adept negotiation skills in high-pressure situations
Leadership skills to indirectly lead cross-functionalteams toward common solutions
Ability to travel up to 25% of your time
CISSP, CREA, CEH, CPT, CEPT, CWAPT or other relevant security certifications and knowledge of ISO and NIST security standards
Experience and/or solid understanding of the following technologies:
SQL and NoSQL technologies such as SQL Server, MongoDB, and Redis
Service Bus for Windows Server/Azure Service Bus
A relevant advanced degree
Tax industry experience
Prior Big 4 experience
