Deloitte Consulting LLP seeks a Consultant, Human Capital, Organization Transformation in Chicago, IL and various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally.

Work You ll Do

Enabling organizations to operate differently in support of their business strategy. Organization transformation can occur at the enterprise, business unit or functional level, involving both employers and providers across the Human Capital ecosystem, and leveraging behavioral analytics, actuarial capabilities and research insights to drive the change. Providing industry insight and analytical support using data mining, pattern matching, data visualization, and predictive modelling tools to produce analysis and algorithms that help businesses make better decisions. Performing reserve analyses, including Statements of Actuarial Opinion, pricing, mergers and acquisitions, financial modeling, economic capital modeling, enterprise risk management, new product development, strategic planning, pricing strategy development, target market assessments, competitive assessments of coverage and rating, development of rating models and factors for new product development and product enhancements, profitability analysis and audit support. Searching and mining large data sets to discover meaningful patterns, trends and relationships to identify success measures and analysis. Conducting detailed analyses in focused specialty areas to draw conclusions, and develop pertinent and insightful recommendations based on structured frameworks. Guiding conversations with client workstreams to help determine the exact needs and expectations of the project and then confirm these with client leadership. Creating clear, effective, and detailed deliverable content, including written, visual, and oral deliverables, which are informed by research, analytics, and client meetings. Presenting content that addresses client needs in solutioning sessions to drive toward a decision, and validate that decision with client leadership to drive the company s growth and progress.



  • Bachelor s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Business Administration, any STEM degree or a related field.

  • One year of experience in the offered position or a position in a related occupation.

  • Must have one year of experience with:

  • Performing reserve analyses regarding actuarial liabilities, including active life reserves, disabled life reserves, incurred but not reported claim liabilities and premium deficiency reserves for multiple lines of business in support of client engagements for enterprise level clients;

  • Performing actuarial procedures, including cash flow testing, detail testing, loss recognition testing and assumption testing for both Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP), Statutory (STAT) and tax financial reporting;

  • Preparing internal and client deliverables to document actuarial procedures, including actuarial reports, actuarial opinions, actuarial memoranda and client presentations;

  • Performing trend analyses on reserves across multiple lines of business, including prescription drugs, medicare supplement, long-term care, disability income and major medical in support of client engagements for enterprise level clients;

  • Reviewing state rate filings for accident and health insurance products, including travel, disability, hospital indemnity and critical illness for actuarial reasonability;

  • Reviewing bids submitted by plan sponsors to CMS for appropriateness of methodologies used to develop bid premium rates;

  • Developing complex queries to load, cleanse, manipulate, and analyze large datasets utilizing database softwares.

  • 80% travel required.
