Catalyst Strategy & Operations Entrepreneur Senior Consultant

Work You'll Do: Our Catalyst team is focused on significantly increasing the volume and execution speed of early-stage solution and capability experiments through dedicated Industry Hub teams supporting sourcing, shaping, prototyping, and market-testing our future Hybrid Businesses and tech-enabled assets. The Catalyst Strategy & Operations team provides support across our industry-aligned Hub Teams, Catalyst Leadership, and New Business Innovation (NBI) stakeholders.

The individual in the Entrepreneur role will be aligned with the Strategy & Operations team, providing cross-hub support and embedding in use case pods / Hubs as specific needs arise. The Entrepreneur will focus on some or all of the following based on the support needed:

  • Discovery / Sourcing: Narrow down opportunity areas for growth into tangible problem statements / use case, to be further researched

  • Research: Lead customer interaction activities (customer interviews, end user demos, economic buyer demos) to gain feedback for our opportunity areas / use cases

  • Prototyping: Lead prototype development that will be used for end user demos / economic buyers

  • Funding pitch: Build a business and obtain funding through the development / presentation of pitch materials; materials will include a clear demonstration of customer need, solution, high level execution roadmap, competitor analysis, and team outlook

  • Brand development: Build Catalyst brand through developing relationship with our day-to-day stakeholders (other NBI groups, Deloitte network, external network, etc.)

  • Prospecting/Sales: Generate leads (including identifying and connecting with potential customers) to create a sales pipeline

  • Other/Ad hoc Support: Support with ad hoc activities (e.g., reporting) and strategic projects (e.g., serve as an advisor on SME topics) as needed

  • DEI: Demonstrate and champion Catalyst's diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and well-being goals within the Hub

The Team: We catalyze new business opportunities through scoping undefined opportunity areas, iterative solution incubation, and targeted activation in the market with the goal of developing a successful Hybrid Business to be further advanced by the Consulting practice. We serve 6 industries: Consumer; Energy Resources, and Industrials, Financial Services and Insurance; Government and Public Sector; Life Sciences and Healthcare; and Technology, Media, and Telecommunications.

Eligibility Criteria:

The role primarily remote and may require colocation for critical meetings (up to 30% travel).Qualifications:Required:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant work experience in startups, digital product strategy, digital product management, digital product development, innovation, or innovation consulting

  • Previous experience in entrepreneurship including working in or with startups, starting own business or side business, etc.

  • Natural problem solver and driver with strong ability to apply structured thinking in ambiguous situations, determine next steps, and delegate among teammates

  • Demonstrated ability to transform user, customer, and business needs into features and product requirements (e.g. epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, etc.)

  • Strong ambition to learn via experiments, research, and testing

  • Experience working with design teams to create prototypes through the wireframes and visual designs with an empathetic view of the customer problem

  • Detailed organizational skills and ability to operate autonomously

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to manage stakeholders

  • Demonstrated devotion to DEI principles and advocacy

Preferred:

  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly

  • Ability to coach peers and leaders and drive collective work forward

  • Ability to work with senior leadership with varying perspectives; ability to synthesize information and provide a data-backed, best-fit recommendation

  • Demonstrated involvement in continued learning and curiosity around industry fundamentals

    The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $103,000 to $189,000. You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
