Deloitte & Touche LLP seeks a Advisory Senior Consultant in Chicago, IL.

Work You ll Do

Compile and analyze data. Perform valuation of structured finance products using FAS 133 and FASB 157 fair value guidelines; model cash flows for securitized transactions containing wide variety of underlying asset classes; understand clients business environment and basic risk management approaches; demonstrate general knowledge of market trends and competitor activities, products, and service lines; participate in decision making with engagement management and seek to understand broader impact of current decisions; build and nurture strong client relationships; apply technical accounting standards, financial reporting, valuation techniques and methodologies for derivatives, quantitative risk assessment and forecasting models, structured finance transactions, cash flow modeling, data integrity, data modeling, statistical sampling, capital markets transaction support and due diligence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).

  • Eighteen months of experience in entity and enterprise accounting, auditing, carve-out, and technical accounting.

Experience must include eighteen months of:

  • Preparing and reviewing carve-out financial statements as part of carve-out transactions;

  • Preparing and reviewing SEC form S-1 filing required for initial public offerings;

  • Performing reviews of annual and quarterly financial statements to ensure accuracy and consistency with SEC requirements and U.S. GAAP accounting standards;

  • Assisting clients with SOX implementation and compliance, including performing walkthroughs of key processes, developing control testing strategies, executing test of key controls, evaluating management review controls, and communicating testing results and areas of improvement to management;

  • Executing audit procedures to address financial reporting risks related to divestments, including transaction gain calculation, net working capital analysis, and fair value measurement of contingent liabilities in accordance with ASC Topic 820, Fair Value Measurement;

  • Utilizing Microsoft Excel including conditional formatting, Vlookups, pivot tables, data validation, what-if-analysis, scenario manager, and macros;

  • Mentoring, coaching, and reviewing the work of junior team members from both onshore and offshore teams; and

  • Assisting in daily aspects of client engagements, including scheduling, coordinating between on­shore and off-shore teams, communicating requests/status with corporate and local affiliate contacts, and presenting client deliverables.

Position requires 80% travel.
