Our Risk and Financial Advisory group is comprised of more than 10,000 partners, managers and staff. We help solve our clients most complex financial instrument and physical market challenges by delivering risk advisory, technical accounting, quantitative, technology and operational advisory services. Specifically, our consulting projects include risk assessment and solution implementation for business strategies and policies, business processes, organization structure, risk modeling, management reporting and treasury, trading and risk systems. We help clients obtain, analyze and report information from multiple sources and across risk classes to facilitate tactical and strategic decision making.

Work you ll do

We are looking for a Risk and Capital Management Manager to be based out of our New York, San Francisco, or Charlotte offices. In this role you will lead and implement services and solutions that help clients transform their business approaches and infrastructures to more effectively and efficiently address market and regulatory demands that may impact their business. Our services focus on Large-Scale Program Implementation, Business Optimization and Efficiency, and Structural Transformation.Our solutions enable our clients to lead in their industry, navigate risk and opportunities, and disrupt the status quo.Job duties include:

  • Identify and evaluate business, regulatory and technology risks, internal controls which mitigate risks, and related opportunities for internal control improvement.

  • Assist in the selection and tailoring of approaches, methods and tools to support service offering or industry projects

  • Actively participate in decision making with engagement management and seek to understand the broader impact of current decisions

  • Generate innovative ideas and challenge the status quo

  • Facilitate use of technology-based tools or methodologies to review, design and/or implement products and services

  • Play substantive/lead role and engagement planning, economics, and billing

  • Assist in retention of professionals

  • Participate in training efforts

  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell other services

  • Demonstrate a general knowledge of market trends, competitor activities, Deloitte s products and service lines

  • Build and nurture positive working relationships with clients with the intention to exceed client expectations

  • Understand clients' business environment and basic risk management approaches

  • Participate in proposal development efforts

  • Participate in "add-on" sales to client

  • Membership and visibility in professional & civic organizations

  • Contribute to a positive team attitude

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should have broad risk and capital management consulting/banking skills, which can also be leveraged, across relevant areas such as credit, market and operational risk, or other areas, so that this resource is broadly useful and leverageable to the risk consulting practice. Specific qualifications include:

Required:

  • 7 years of experience in the following Risk services:

  • Risk governance and organizational structure conceptual frameworks

  • Risk management policies and procedures

  • Risk reporting

  • Risk self-assessment

  • ORM loss database

  • ERM KRI, KPI and scorecards

  • Risk quantification, capital usage and limit allocation methodologies

  • Risk and capital modeling and RAROC model development, benchmarking and review

  • Integration of market, credit and operational risk for measurement, management, and evaluation

  • Risk and Capital supporting technology implementation

  • Regulatory and stress capital requirements

  • Risk controls certifications under Sarbanes - Oxley

  • Risk controls certifications under FIDICIA

  • BA/BBA/BS in Accounting, Finance or business related field

  • Prior performance management experience required

  • Ability and willingness to travel 75%

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

Preferred:

  • MBA/MS/MA degree is a plus

  • Financial services and risk consulting experience from another major consulting firm.
