Deloitte Data Engineer – Data Discovery & Classification Manager, Audit & Assurance Products and Solutions in Charlotte, North Carolina
As a Data Engineer Data Discovery &Classification Manager, you will be responsible forestablishing the Enterprise DataLandscape, the semantic classification of Data Assets and integration ofassociated metadata into the Enterprise Data Catalog. This includes an expectation for thoughtleadership on projects requiring extensive requirements gathering and dataanalysis supporting thedesign,creation and deployment of Data Discovery and Classification capabilities,methodologies and standards in a cloud-based ecosystem.
Drives the design, creation and deployment of ourEnterprise Data Discovery & Classification capabilities; Inventorying data assets, data profiling, computing data lineage, semantic data classification and publishing metadata into data catalogs
Responsible for building out the Data Discovery, Classification and Data Catalog platforms, automated solutions, methodologies and standards
Integrates Data Discovery & Classificationwith both DataOps and DevOps processes
Develops data discovery & classification, automation and validation solutions
Collaborates with and influences solution architects, engineers & delivery teams to adopt enterprise metadata standards and specifications in solutions
Work closely with Design and Program Management teams in an agile environment, to deliver data products to market.
Leads project teams
Works closely with the Enterprise Data Architecture Leader, product portfolio management, product owners, solution architects, delivery and program management teams in an agile environment to deliver Enterprise Data Architecture artifacts & solutions
Documents the Enterprise Data Landscape, classifies data assets and integrates associated metadata into the Enterprise Data Catalog
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business MIS, or equivalent experience.
5 years of enterprise data integration, data lineage, data platforms, data strategy consulting or equivalent data management experience
Hands-ondeveloper who understands data analysis, data set comparisons, data integration, data lineage and metadata integration following a metadata management strategy
Experience in inventorying, classifying and cataloging diverse data landscapes and metadata repositories
Experience working with cross-functional teams in delivery of new products or services
Ability to create effective data integration solution recommendations and present complex information concisely through written/verbal communication
Strong systems and application delivery ability
Experience in semantic technologies with a focus on ontologies-based big data management is a plus
Hands-on experience with Metadata Management, Data Discovery & Classification platforms from Informatica, Global IDs or other vendors preferred
Experience in Audit or Financial Services preferred with aptitude and interest in innovative technological solutions
Metadata Management, Data Discovery & Classification and Data Catalog platforms experience and knowledge of metadata standards
Experience defining data platform requirements, working with delivery teams to rapidly deliver high-impact capabilities
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to justify requirements, features and drive management of product
Limited travel might be required.
