Consultant, Client & Market Growth/Monitor Institute by DeloitteThe teamMonitor Institute by Deloitte (MIbD), a consulting team within the Client and Market Growth organization, works with social impact-focused businesses, philanthropies, and nonprofits. The team collaborates with innovative leaders to surface and spread best practices in public problem solving and to pioneer next practices - breakthrough approaches for addressing societal challenges.

MIbD blends the specialized knowledge and expertise of a leading-edge social impact consulting practice with the breadth and scale of a globally recognized professional services firm.Work you'll do

  • Execute major streams of work, including (but not limited to) synthesis of primary source interviews, secondary research, and data analysis

  • Develop high-quality, senior-team review-ready deliverables

  • Support practice-building efforts, such as creating eminence, managing team's social media, and developing methodology to use in project delivery

Key responsibilities

  • Execute work streams as jointly prioritized with project team

  • Confirm understanding of requests/assignments with Senior Consultant or Manager; solicit additional direction and guidance if needed

  • Propose and draft materials (e.g., frameworks, hypotheses, storyboards, analyses, and client meeting agendas) that will advance project work and meet client needs

  • Own development of high-quality deliverables, ranging from interview synthesis to secondary research findings to data analysis (e.g., operational and financial models) and beyond

  • Prepare for client meetings (e.g., agenda development, gathering materials)

  • Support internal team initiatives (e.g., methodology development, writing eminence, drafting case studies/quals from project work)

  • Travel domestically for client service and select Learning & Development opportunities (post-COVID); will be highly variable based on project assignments and related requirements

QualificationsRequired

  • 2 to 3 years of prior work experience

  • Must be legally authorized to working in the United States; limited immigration sponsorship may be available

  • Travel on average of 20% (While 20% travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice. Travel is limited to necessary client-facing activities.)

Preferred

  • Prior consulting experience

  • Social sector experience

  • Track record of high performance; consultative and strategic mindset; ability to navigate ambiguous circumstances and complex structures

  • Desire to bring an active anti-racist perspective

  • Commitment to bring a DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) lens

  • Deep understanding of social sector issues, including but not limited to education, workforce development, and innovation

  • Strong analytical, research, and project management skills

  • Strong storyboarding skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to proactively manage multiple workstreams and deliverables simultaneously

  • Ability to prioritize activities and manage to deliverable due dates and work plan

  • Proven leadership and teaming skills
