Our Risk and Financial Advisory group is comprised of more than 10,000 partners, managers and staff. We help solve our clients most complex financial instrument and physical market challenges by delivering risk advisory, technical accounting, quantitative, technology and operational advisory services. Specifically, our consulting projects include risk assessment and solution implementation for business strategies and policies, business processes, organization structure, risk modeling, management reporting and treasury, trading and risk systems. We help clients obtain, analyze and report information from multiple sources and across risk classes to facilitate tactical and strategic decision making.

Work you ll do

The Manager is responsible for managing related consulting projects, in addition to the development and management of staff assigned to projects. A Manager must be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the Operational Risk Management function.

The Manager is responsible for managing projects including but not limited to:

  • Enhancing risk insights through transformed and modernized risk management processes.

  • Leading activities across the risk management lifecycle risk appetite setting, KRI/metrics, process mapping, error tracking, scenario planning, risk assessment, issue management and supporting effective challenge of risk profiles and risk control self-assessment.

  • Gathering of input and risk process requirements.

  • Creating and reviewing program management updates and reports to senior management; policies and procedures; project status updates; and process/data flows.

The Manager is a SME that other Deloitte team members may query and receive advice and guidance with questions in their area of expertise. Travel to client sites will also be required. We are seeking an individual either with consulting experience or with experience working in a related function at a life sciences or healthcare related organization who can make a successful transition to a consulting environment.

  • 5 years of experience working and managing a team in the Operational Risk Management function of a life sciences or healthcare organization who is eager to help lead the industry to enhanced risk insights through transformed and modernized risk management processes.

  • Bachelor s degree required in business, finance, accounting or other related subject.

  • Experience in enterprise risk management strategy and transformational initiatives between business units and corporate risk and compliance functions, as driven by industry enterprise risk management standards (ISO 31000, COSO) strongly preferred.

  • Solid understanding of industry standards for enterprise risk.

  • Knowledge of life science and health care processes, controls and regulatory requirements in core areas (e.g., pharmaceutical FDA process, supply chain, HC regulations).

  • Leadership experience in program and/or project management for risk technology implementations using top analyst rated software strongly preferred.

  • Must possess a strong working knowledge of enterprise risk data principles including taxonomies, ontologies and risk data governance, which will be used to support the development of risk insights to senior management.

  • Must have exceptional relationship building skills, must be a team player and have cross-constituency facilitation skills.

  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Working knowledge of BI tools such as Tableau, Qlikview and/or Splunk a strong plus.
