As Communications Manager in Finance & Administration (FA), you will oversee internal communications across a range of FA service areas. You will strategize, advise, plan, and execute communications to help your internal clients achieve their objectives. This may include one-off messages; multi-faceted, integrated campaigns; and anything in between. Strong project management skills, including leading multiple projects simultaneously and coordinating with other teams and professionals, are essential. This role requires a fast learner, who can engage with leaders, understand basic finance and other principles, and translate that to effective communications planning and deliverables. The ability to see the big picture, know your audience, and think creatively will be important to your success. Seeking internal communications professional with a minimum of 7-9 years of relevant experience professional services or related industry experience preferred.
Reporting to the Finance & Administration Communications Senior Manager, guides and informs the program level communications strategy for a range of FA areas, specifically focused on Finance or Workplace Experience areas.
Provides critical thinking and strategic communications counsel, including audience selection, communications delivery methods, content, and cadence.
Develops, maintains, and drives internal communications activities, plans, and timely production of communications deliverables that build awareness, education, and action from various audiences, ranging from an intra-FA group to the broad all-Deloitte audience.
Supports the eminence activities of senior Deloitte leaders, teaming with external communications/PR professionals as needed.
Collaborates with M&C internal resources and other Deloitte teams to design internal communications campaign assets such as videos, infographics, internal intranet sites, and other print and digital resources to drive employee engagement.
Develops, writes, reviews, and edits internal communications in support of FA strategic priorities (e.g., leadership messages, articles, talking points, webcast content, practice-wide newsletter content, internal website pages, etc.).
Ensures appropriate sequencing of messages and campaign launches.
Develops and monitors communications plans, tracks and follows up on risks, and reports progress against milestones to keep activities on schedule.
Maintains discretion and confidentiality at all times when dealing with sensitive or proprietary information.
Employs strong project management skills (initiating, planning, executing, managing, and closing projects to achieve plan objectives).
Key relationships and development
Uses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead positive working relationships with our internal clients in Deloitte s FA practice, including but not limited to Executive Committee leaders, their immediate leadership teams, and other professionals.
Teams with other FA communications team members to balance duties, brainstorm ideas, solve problems, and leverage skillsets in a positive, supportive environment.
Guides FA communications specialists with on-the-job learning and delegation of appropriate projects.
Coaches team members and peers on best practices to optimize communications through our internal channels.
Ensures editorial/quality reviews of practice-wide messaging and communications plans for consistency, accuracy, and clarity, and provides feedback on team members work product to ensure achievement of desired competencies.
Counsels and negotiates with internal clients on requested or recommended deliverables by demonstrating what has the best return on investment.
The FA Internal Communications team works with the CFO and FA leadership team, and with the multiple Finance and Workplace Services groups under the FA umbrella, to help our leaders influence positive behaviors, drive change, reinforce successes across the US Firms-and promote a strong sense of community within FA-through coordinated, consistent messaging. The team also collaborates closely with other M&C teams to ensure effective and efficient collaboration as we build and protect our leaders eminence and reputation and our brand.
Internal communications professional with a minimum of 7-9 of relevant communications experience professional services or related industry experience preferred.
Strong writing and editing skills and previous writing/editing experience in internal communications, PR, or journalism fields required.
Demonstrated expertise in creative and content direction.
Superlative organizational and project management skills; including ability to craft agile short-term and long-term action plans.
Proven ability to research, analyze, and consolidate complex content into cohesive, clear, straightforward messaging.
Executive presence, professional client service manner, demonstrated ability to take initiative and interact with all levels of management and adapt to business needs
Interpersonal, verbal, and presentation skills, including ability to interact with senior leaders and highly intellectual thinkers.
Strong knowledge of best practices in corporate communications.
Experience in measuring the effectiveness of communication strategies and approaches.
Expert level proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word; knowledgeable in all aspects of Microsoft Office and ancillary programs.
Experience in digital content management, creation, and planning a plus.
- Bachelor s degree, preferably in Communications, English, or Journalism preferred. A degree in Finance or similar field with demonstrated communications excellence will also be considered.
