Data Analytics Engineer for ConvergeHEALTH, Deloitte Consulting

As a data analytics engineer, you will be aligned to the product development team of the ConvergeHEALTH's Miner platform. ConvergeHEALTH is a part of Deloitte Consulting, and supports the information-based transformation of healthcare by enabling healthcare and life sciences organizations to answer the "hard questions" in healthcare-what works, for whom, why, in what context, and at what cost? ConvergeHEALTH Minerâ„¢ platform helps life science companies support their evidence strategies by providing enterprise data management and analytics capabilities for information generated throughout their evidence lifecycle from translational research to clinical trials to real world evidence (RWE).

You will be working with an innovative product development team to build and enhance data analytic workflows needed to power insight generation, and effectively integrating them into platform to demonstrate value for clients.

We expect you to have:

  • A BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Data Science, Information Systems, or similar Quantitative Field

  • 3+ yrs. of hands-on industry experience as data or analytics engineer with understanding of healthcare data (e.g., EMR, Claims, Genomic)

  • Experience with tools like SQL, Python, PySpark and Big Data technologies like AWS Redshift, Snowflake with an emphasis on data wrangling and data exploration

  • Experience with designing and implementing automated data pipelines to generate analytics datasets using technologies such as AWS Glue, AWS EMR, Airflow, Athena, S3 etc..

  • Design processes to support data quality, data cleansing, data transformation, workload management, metadata discovery etc..

  • Understanding of healthcare data standards such as FHIR, OMOP, medical terminologies, CDISC SDTM etc.

  • Knowledge of advanced analytics tools like RStudio, JupyterHub to perform statistical / ML modeling

  • A desire to take initiative and continuously work on improving the products you are responsible for

  • Experience working in an Agile development environment

  • The ability to work well independently and as a team player

  • Excellent conversational and written communication skills

  • Travel up to 25% (While 25% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.)

  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.

    We'd love you to have:

  • Experience with cloud-based ML platforms such as SageMaker or similar tools

  • Knowledge of containerization and related technologies such as AWS EKS etc..

  • A general interest in relevant emerging technologies and a constant desire to learn new technologies

  • Experience with full suite of software lifecycle tools (Confluence, Jira, Stash, Jenkins, Artifactory, etc.)
