Deloitte Creative Technical Writer in Boston, Massachusetts

Work You'll Do:

As a technical writer in Deloitte's Strategy & Analytics Hybrid Solutions & Incubation (HS&I) practice, you will play a critical role in supporting product development for a portfolio of solutions that leverage analytics and artificial intelligence to reimagine the value chain for life science organizations from research & development through drug commercialization.

The right candidate will play an active role across the software development lifecycle and generate key technical artifacts that will support product commercialization and ongoing support. This candidate will work with product managers, product marketing, and engineers to produce and maintain world-class documentation, including: User guides, training material, installation guides, SOPs, requirements, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain a deep understanding of products and services to translate complex product information into simple, polished, and engaging content

  • Analyze existing content/documentation and develop a library of consistent standards that can be reused

  • Build and maintain customer aids that go beyond traditional documentation, such as how to videos, demos, etc.

  • Maintain key technical documents and collaborate with various stakeholders to update them based on new product releases

  • Gather customer feedback on documentation to improve usability

    We Expect You to Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., English, Communications) from a top-tier university; Advanced Degree is a plus - equivalent work experience may act as a substitute to degree requirements

  • Excellent written skills in English

  • 4+ years of experience in technical writing of software documentation (e.g., software releases, interactive technical manuals, how-to guides, troubleshooting trees, and help guides)

  • Experience with JIRA and other relevant requirement toolsets

  • High attention to detail and accuracy; ability to work independently; accountable for outcomes

  • Strong experience owning an end-to-end documentation creation process

  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle

  • Analytical mind with proven ability to dissect problems, devise solutions, and drive business outcomes

  • Limited sponsorship may be available

    We'd Like You to Have:

    • Experience with agile / SCRUM methodologies

  • Experience in new product development from ideation specification through development

  • Experience working in the Life Science industry

  • Experience developing GxP documentation

  • A self-starter, willingness to experiment and navigate ambiguity
