Investment COE Manager (CL5)

Investment COE is one of Deloitte’s Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Centers of Excellence (COEs).

COEs provide thought leadership and direction to develop and promote adoption of leading practices across Deloitte’s Finance organization. The COE ensures the appropriate level of rigor is applied to each investment and notable spend and takes action when investments reach certain performance indicators.

The Investments COE works closely with the Finance Business Partner (FBPs), Investment Owners, and Firm leadership on investments management

The work you’ll do

  • Manage the end-to-end investment management process for the firm, including advising on business case development, critically vetting deliverable, and making recommendations to leaders about investment performance.

  • Create standardization across FP&A and within the investment owners to provide structure, efficiencies and transparency to spend and return on investments.

  • Manage and lead in support of recurring planning activities (e.g. Annual Plan and LTP) and support each business and channel by providing and sharing best practices and guidance

  • Manage and work towards the firm’s strategy in driving accountability and insights

  • Collaborate with the Finance Business Partners and Investment owners to assess investment spend and return, as well as tie return to the business P&L

  • Advise the US Firms’ businesses and Finance organization on leading practices for Investment processes, leveraging our systems and technology (e.g. platform)

  • Conduct financial analytics and reporting as needed to support insights and analytics broadly around investments

The team

The Investment COE develops Investment management processes, with strong collaboration with Finance and Business leadership. The focus is to provide stronger transparency and rigor around the end user and leadership view around investments that can drive us to achieve world-class financial management.


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a Business-related field

  • 5 years relevant project management experience

  • Strongexperience with SAP and/or Deloitte Finance systems

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written); the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to various levels of leadership in-person and virtually

  • Ability to guide development of executive-ready presentations storyboarding and driving content tailored to the appropriate audience

  • Have a proactive work ethic (“self-starter”) that also embraces a collaborative (“team player”) approach to project work

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, problem solving, data management and business process development

  • Proven experience in leading virtual teams

  • Ability to travel as required (While travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.)

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.


  • Professional services experience infinance or accounting with prior involvement in investment management a plus

  • Experience with financial system implementations, integrations, and conversion strategies
