Deloitte Senior Cloud Analytics Architect in Austin, Texas

Work you'll do

The Cloud Analytics Engineer will provide engineering and programming support for analytics focused cloud architectures. They will use cutting edge tools and services to leverage the power of the cloud to solve clients' analytics challenges. They will help drive and advise tasks associated with re-imagining and migrating current data insight tools to the new environment and developing new reports, visualizations, and processes to ingest, manage, and automate the use of new data sources.

Additional duties:

• Perform project tasks independently, and may direct the efforts of others

• Participate in and/or lead the development of deliverable content that meets the needs of the client and contract

• Anticipate client needs and formulate solutions to client issues

• Review deliverables for accuracy and quality

• Provides coaching to junior staff

• Contribute to new business proposals and proposal development

• Manages own personal and professional development; seeks opportunities for professional growth and expansion of consulting skills and experiences

Travel up to 10% (While 10% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.)

The GPS Analytics and Cognitive (A&C) offering is responsible for developing advanced analytics products and applying data visualization and statistical programming tools to enterprise data in order to advance and enable the key mission outcomes for our clients. Our team supports all phases of analytic work product development, from the identification of key business questions through data collection and ETL, and from performing analyses and using a wide range of statistical, machine learning, and applied mathematical techniques to delivery insights to decision-makers. Our practitioners give special attention to the interplay between data and the business processes that produce it and the decision-makers that consume insights.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Active Government Security Clearance

  • 12+ years of relevant professional experience

  • 5+ years of experience architecting within the following cloud computing platforms: AWS, Azure and/or GCP

  • 5+ years of ETL development experience with Snowflake, Informatica, OBIEE, and/or DataStage

  • 5+ years of experience with data mining, machine learning, data visualization and statistical modeling

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or business-related field

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

    Preferred:

  • Certifications: AWS Solution Architect, AWS Big Data Specialty or Azure/GCP equivalent

  • Experience working in Big Data with tools like Cloudera, HortonWorks, MapR

  • Prior professional services or federal consulting experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to work with both technical and functional resources
