Deloitte Disaster Recovery Project Delivery Senior Analyst - Austin, TX in Austin, Texas

This position is an entry-level Project Delivery Model role with responsibilityfor facilitatinggrantcompliance monitoring services for grant administration activities related tofederally funded disaster grant programs. Individualswill provide subject-matter knowledge in a wide range of duties directlyrelated to crisis recovery and disaster recovery grants administration of theStafford Act and FEMA Public Assistance (PA) grant programs.

Project based engagements aretypically multi-year commitments, although the length of the project, theclient's commitment to the project, and the continued need for your services onthe project, are subject to change.

Position is expected to bebased in Austin with expectation for daily on-site work from Deloitte or clientlocations. Limited travel to Houston or Southeast Texas geographies may berequired.

Work you ll do:

  • Collaborate with federal, state and local organizations to provide federal disaster recovery and grants management support

  • Attend meetings between the PA applicants and FEMA, representing the state and applicant s best interests

  • Coordinate with the applicant and FEMA to supply applicable documentation to facilitate the formulation and review of project worksheets

  • Work with applicants to understand and implement applicable compliance requirements such as procurement, contracting, documentation and reporting of DAC, insurance, construction costs, repair costs, structural issues, architectural, engineering, hazard mitigation and cost estimating services.

  • Identify and monitor potential programmatic non-compliance, develop corrective action recommendations and support sub grantees in the resolution

  • Assist in the review and processing of reimbursement requests, processing of fund drawdown and subsequent disbursement of funds to sub grantees

  • Perform review, reconciliation and accounting procedures in accordance with established standards and in an accurate, thorough and timely manner

Supportin the documentation and articulation of progress reports


  • Bachelor s degree with preference for a concentration in emergency management, finance, accounting, business administration, construction management, or related field

  • 0-3 years working with disaster related grants or related auditor compliance monitoring experience

  • Willingness to learn, interpret and apply federal, state, and local polices to specific recovery circumstances

  • Adaptability and willingness to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Customer service experience with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing and client presentations

  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite of applications (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

  • Must be organized and be able to handle multiple tasks

  • Ability to obtain & maintain the required security clearance

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
