Work you ll do
The Sr. Consultant is responsible for leading related consulting projects, in addition to the development and supervision of staff assigned to projects. A Sr. Consultant must have strong knowledge within clinical or health information management.
The Sr. Consultant is responsible for leading projects including but not limited to:
Contributing to a strong client relationship through interactions with client personnel.
Understanding engagements as it relates to client's business.
Demonstrating knowledge in some areas of industry or functional specialty.
Contributing to engagement planning and ensuring that products/deliverables meet contract/workplan.
Delivering services that meet Deloitte & Touche's engagement leader specifications.
Assuming responsibility for small components of engagements. May have greater role on small engagements.
Writing of various reports related to engagements.
Contributing to a positive team attitude.
Travel to client sites will also be required. We are seeking an individual either with consulting experience or with experience working in a related function at a healthcare provider who can make a successful transition to a consulting environment.

Minimum 5 years clinical or health information management experience in a hospital setting.
BA/BS in Health Information Management, nursing or other clinical area (medical technologist, pharmacist, physical therapist, physician etc.) required.
Relevant prior consulting experience performing clinical documentation improvement work is strongly preferred.
Ability to evaluate clinical documentation to assess if it supports inpatient coding assignment.
Coding knowledge of CPT/HCPCS and ICD-10 coding (certification preferred).
Strong skills in analytical and critical thinking, project management, writing, problem solving and communication.
Proficient written and oral communication skills to conduct training for physicians, nurses and coders about above topics.
Experience with federal and state regulatory requirements, regulatory compliance, and billing requirements is a plus.
The ability to travel 75% is required.
