Emerging Tech Workforce (ETW) Workforce Guild Program Senior Manager

The mission of the Deloitte Consulting Sense & Incubate (S&I) group within New Business Innovation is to sense, research, and champion emerging technologies while deepening our reputation, relationship, and engagement with our clients' technology executives. We are currently seeking a Senior Manager to lead the Workforce Guild Program within S&I's Emerging Tech Workforce (ETW) team.

Work You'll Do

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the Workforce Guild Program under the Emerging Tech Workforce thread. The Workforce Guild Program's mission is to establish a firm-wide community and central hub around our high-priority workforce competencies to foster consistent quality and delivery across Deloitte, and advancing recruiting, retaining, and growing our talent in these competencies. There are currently two Workforce Guilds: Next Gen Architecture and Product Design with the intent to add additional competencies to the portfolio.

  • Developing the workforce of the future in high priority competencies, to better serve clients across our functions and global member firms

  • Enhancing identity, community, and collaboration for practitioners within talent models that span across multiple areas within the firm

  • Providing opportunities to experiment and innovate with emerging and horizon next technology

  • Improving recruiting and retention of practitioners in our fastest growing areas of the business

  • Accelerating our ability to deliver best-in-class solutions in each competency through reusability of standards, assets, and leading practices

This role would be responsible for a variety of activities including:

  • Work with leadership and executive stakeholders to define and shape the focus and mission of each guild to align with the firm's tech strategy and high growth areas like our hybrid businesses

  • Establish/charter new threads of work and/or new programs as needs evolve

  • Provide direction/guidance to the team to achieve objectives for each program and execute on overall plan

  • Develop and oversee relationships with other organizational groups and leaders (functions, global member firms, Offerings, NBI, etc.) to identify areas of collaboration and/or to expand and operationalize program elements

  • Develop and drive creative solutions to increase and engage members and grow brand and awareness of Emerging Tech Workforce and its sub-threads across the firm and externally

  • Lead talent/performance management for the team and nurture a strong team culture

  • Manage investment/budget for the thread and across various funding sources

  • Represent the team with senior leadership, advisory council, and steering committees and develop executive level communications

  • Organize the team around KPIs, impact, and market value; Measure, track, and report out progress/risks/obstacles on a periodic basis to program leadership

  • Escalate and resolve issues

  • Evaluate progress, process, and operations quarterly and reorganize the team as appropriate

  • Optimize team operating efficiencies by driving process improvements, automations, and system implementations

  • Recruit and onboard team members and manage part-time volunteers to drive program initiatives and plans

Within the Sense & Incubate organization, this role sits within the Emergent Tech Workforce (ETW) team, which focuses on cultivating groups of experts and passionate apprentices to dig deeply into technologies that are disrupting our clients' businesses. By harnessing these technologies, we are accelerating Deloitte's ability to lead our clients through technology transformation.



  • 10-15 years consulting or similar experience with working knowledge of emerging technologies

  • Current Deloitte professional, familiar with the firm's general structure and policies; able to navigate the firm and access resources to resolve issues

  • Location: US

  • Experience with leading technical resources in implementation projects


  • Able to work well in a highly agile, fast-paced environment

  • Strong executive presence with a track record for working with/advising senior leaders on a wide range of issues; ability to work with senior firm leadership and their teams

  • Superior project management skills and organization; ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Demonstrates strong professional judgement; acts in utmost confidentiality with sensitive leadership information, and navigates tough situations effectively and professionally

  • Creative and critical thinker, willing to bring new ideas to the table and challenge the status quo

  • High degree of self-confidence, poise, maturity, discretion, diplomacy, and empathy

  • Strong organizational and communications skills (verbal and written)

  • Comfortable working in a virtual environment and managing a virtual team

  • Ability to take ownership and manage different levels of stakeholders, including senior leadership

  • Flexibility/adaptability - comfortable working with ambiguity and continually evolving priorities

  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills

• The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $153,000-$280,000.

o You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
