The Government & Public Services (GPS) Delivery Excellence (DE) team is currently seeking a full-time dedicated Project Delivery Start-Up Coach. The Project Delivery Start-Up Coach will act as a boots on the ground strategic advisor and engage directly with project teams to enable project management, DevSecOps, and testing solutions for traditional and agile initiatives as well as to partner with project teams to determine optimal delivery approaches to be implemented. This role will be responsible for reducing project risk from day one. They will become experts in and champion project delivery methods, tools, and accelerators and become a dependable resource for project teams to execute their delivery. They will also collect the various tools/methods/best practices that project teams are using/requesting and share with larger Delivery Enablement effort. Project Delivery Start-Up Coaches will collaborate with other teams within Delivery Excellence to evaluate and employ tools, methods, resources, and other quality management initiatives for project teams.
Work you'll do
Lead and deliver advisory and hands-on services to assist large scale Deloitte Federal project teams in deploying Deloitte's delivery approaches and enabling solutions for project management and agile delivery based on project needs
Support different delivery approaches including waterfall and agile
Provide guidance to senior Federal project leadership as they develop their approaches, plans and processes to deliver high quality solutions
Identify and develop approaches to address project team training needs on Deloitte methods and tools
Provide strategic recommendations to improve use, adoption and understanding of the method and enabling tools
Configure and set up various project delivery tools as needed
Support the identification and harvesting of high-quality deliverables and related information to enable a model of continuous improvement
Lead and support delivery of instructor-led training courses aligned with Project Management, Agile, and SAFe solution focus
Lead and facilitate project team workshops and meetings with clients to establish PM processes and delivery approaches and achieve outcomes necessary during project set-up
Qualifications
Required
8 years of experience with project delivery on large, complex projects preferably within a consulting environment
4 years of experience with delivering in a functional or technical role covering the entire SDLC including leading discovery/design workshops and managing requirements using Agile techniques
3 years of experience with hands-on project management, preferably in both waterfall and agile delivery approaches related to one or more of the following: pursuits including orals, contracting, PMO setup, work plan management, and client relationship management
Experience with supporting or leading projects in the Federal space
Experience with leveraging MS Project
Experienced with using and deploying at least one PM delivery and Agile delivery tool
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
Ability to travel as needed
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred:
Experience in scaled Agile
Experience working in a virtual environment, including with offshore/India-based team members
Ability to manage deadlines while working on multiple initiatives
Ability to work independently while receiving direction from multiple leadership areas
Ability to identify gaps or challenges and develop strategic and creative solutions and approaches to overcome
Ability to work effectively with senior project team members
PMP, Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), and/or Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) Certified
