Deloitte Consulting's GPS Engagement Financial group is comprised of client service professionals specializing in program management, risk mitigation, account and engagement economics, profitability optimization, and compliance services throughout the full project lifecycle, from the pursuit phase through project closeout. GPS Engagement Financial Advisors support client engagement team(s) by assisting with initiating and controlling organizational aspects of projects. Their greatest value is in the understanding and application of engagement business and financial processes both to individual engagements and to client accounts.
Work you ll do
GPS Engagement Financial Advisors are responsible for supporting one or more engagement teams through successful management of the program management processes and the implementation of budgetary controls. On any given assignment, Consultant EFAs may be responsible for the following activities:
Overall accountability for consolidation and accuracy of engagement planning (staff, spend, profitability);
Interact periodically with indirect finance team to ensure that Financial Reporting is in line with Engagement operations;
Perform and manage project management office (PMO) functional tasks and perform day-to-day contract management activities;
Understand and utilize standard processes for project management, quality management, and risk management;
Serve as POC for engagement leadership for any ad hoc financial, Firm, risk, and engagement management needs; and
Contribute to the growth and development of the overall GPS Engagement Controller Practice through active involvement in one or more practice initiatives
Our GPS engagement financial practice helps clients define what they need and how it can be delivered, and are an integral part of the successful delivery of engagements. We work with clients to define project scope in as much detail as possible using advanced budgeting, forecasting and program management techniques. We liaise with internal groups to ensure that financial reporting, invoicing, contract management, pricing, and risk management continually have information they need to execute their functions to keep clients projects on track and on cost.
Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Management, or a related area;
Minimum of 4 years experience in a PMO or financial analysis role
Minimum of 4 years experience with the entire Microsoft Office Suite, including intermediate to advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
Experience working with a Federal or State government contracts
Understanding of Federal compliance strategies, such as time and expense recording, allocation and allowance of costs, indirect and direct cost principles, and procurement policies
Experience summarizing results and producing management reports
Experience soliciting data from and presenting results to Senior Leadership
Proven oral and written communication skills, including excellent presentation skills
Demonstrated attention to detail and adherence to project deadlines
Proven ability to work effectively, both independently and as a member of a team
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Willingness and ability and willingness to travel up to 80%
Experience with Deltek Costpoint
Experience in working and collaborating with international teams
Experience in a client service environment; consulting experience is preferred
Experience with MS Project applications
