Work you'll do

The engagement provides RMF Strategy support across a series of activities to mature the client's cybersecurity posture and rectify identified weaknesses on topics related to Assessment and Authorization (A&A), governance / risk management, and continuous monitoring. Due to the ever-changing cybersecurity environment, there is a need to arm the organization with cybersecurity support that will uphold compliance and flexibility as threats evolve. Derived from various data sources, our client must create a prioritized approach to system authorizations, through the tiered allocation of resources, integration of agency mission and government statutory requirements to the information system level, and focused efforts around compliance monitoring activities.

To be successful in this environment, the candidate should have a variety of cybersecurity experience to support effective solutions within a complex environment. Primary duties will include:

  • Interface and lead discussions with a broad range of stakeholders - technical resources to Executive Directors - on complex topics related to security controls (National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-53, Risk Management Framework (RMF), System Authority to Operates (ATO), and system prioritization

  • Manage the delivery of task areas including: RMF strategy development including the use of automation capabilities to inform process improvements; High Value Assets; risk quantification and prioritization, metrics, and reporting

  • Lead timely completion of monthly client deliverables depicting updates to the relevant efforts

  • Identify A&A process and compliance improvements resulting from emerging requirements (e.g. policy, technology)

  • Plan, manage and follow-up on work with responsible team members in support of timely completion of deliverables

  • Work within an integrated team of cybersecurity professionals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required clearance for this role .

  • Travel up to 10%

Preferred:

  • Experience in advising on cybersecurity risk management strategies

  • Technical understanding of System Authorization and FISMA Audit Experience

  • Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) Tool experience and experience with the Enterprise Mission Assurance (eMASS) tool

  • Experience in cybersecurity topics related Compliance Risk Management and knowledge of cybersecurity in compliance with federal requirements including Office of Management and Budget (OMB) mandates, Federal Information Systems Modernization Act (FISMA), NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), and Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) Instructions
