Work You'll Do

As a member of our growing Product Engineering Services team, you'll help address key design challenges in the Life Sciences, Industrial, Automotive, and Consumer Electronics markets.

We are seeking innovative engineers from diverse disciplines, including Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, to join our dynamic Product Development team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in engineering and design principles and a desire to turn conceptual ideas into successful products. This role involves cross-functional collaboration to design, develop, and refine products that meet both market and client needs.

As an Optimal Design Analyst within Connected Device Engineering of Deloitte Consulting, your job responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the design and development of new products and solutions from concept through launch, ensuring they meet required specifications and quality standards.

  • Employing user-centered design principles, creating prototypes and comprehensive documentation for product design files.

  • Developing, testing, and optimizing designs using the appropriate software and hardware tools.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate all aspects of product design.

  • Researching and developing new technologies to generate unique solutions for client problems.

  • Working closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure product designs are producible at scale.

  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices for safety and environmental impact.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree completed by Summer/Fall 2025 in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field

  • Strong understanding of design principles, attention to detail, and experience in your respective discipline (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering)

  • Proficiency in relevant software and hardware tools

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to travel up to 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

  • Work position is located onsite in Arlington Heights, IL.

    The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $90,000.
