Work You ll DoResearch and document tax filing positions and analyze tax planning opportunities using tax databases, the Internal Revenue Code, and regulations. Review tax provision workpapers for audit purposes, including drafting memorandums, and work with audit team by handling requests and questions. Prepare tax provision workpapers, note disclosures/rate reconciliation, and tax accounting journal entries. Review federal and state consolidated corporation income tax returns, information returns, extension and quarterly estimated tax analysis, prepared by Tax Consultants. Lead engagements and ensure deadlines are met by coordinating with clients, scheduling staff and budgeting, communicating the status to the engagement team, and assessing opportunities for additional consulting. Respond to tax audits and notices from Internal Revenue Service and State tax authorities. Mentor and coach junior team members and escalate issues when necessary. Actively participate in the entire engagement planning including preparing fee quotes, engagement letters and drafting invoices, and decision making. #LI-DNI RequirementsBachelor's degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Business Administration, Economics, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).Eighteen months of experience providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and tax returns.Experience must include eighteen months of:Preparing and reviewing federal and state consolidated corporation income tax returns, or information returns using CorpTax and GoSystem for Japanese subsidiaries located in the US and US corporations;Preparing and reviewing extension and estimated tax analysis for corporations;Preparing federal and state income tax returns and K-1s for US partnerships through GoSystem, K-1 Suite and iPACS;Utilizing tax software, including CorpTax, GoSystem, Sage FAS, Superform, Microsoft Office, to prepare federal, state, and information returns;Utilizing tax research tools, including LexisNexis, BNA, CCH, to keep up-to date on current tax practices and to research a wide range of tax issues encountered on engagements;Assisting corporations for Internal Revenue Service and state tax examination, and responding to Information Document Requests (IDRs); andAuditing and preparing annual tax provision for private companies.
