Work You ll DoAssist companies with federal, state and local and international tax compliance, consulting, and align the tax function with business objectives. Assist clients with fundamental tax planning and analysis, work to understand company-specific business and tax issues and identify and mitigate risk areas. Under the supervision of Tax Managers, oversee tax consulting projects for clients in diverse industries. Research and analyze a wide range of tax issues encountered on engagements. Assume tax-planning responsibilities for our federal clients and assist with the supervision of assignments. Assist with tax planning opportunity identification, implementing tax planning projects, providing tax research and analysis for clients in diverse financial services industries, and keeping up-to-date on current tax practices and technical issues. Develop a working knowledge of the client's business and tax systems, take responsibility for clearing open items relating to assigned areas, meeting client deadlines, and contribute to the successful completion of projects. Assist with the supervision of Tax Consultants and escalate issues when necessary. Actively participate in engagement planning and decision-making. #LI-DNI RequirementsBachelor's degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Business Administration, Economics, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).Eighteen months of experience providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and tax returns.Experience must include eighteen months of:Preparing and reviewing state, federal and international informational tax compliance forms, including Forms 5471, 5472, and 8858 for corporations and partnership clients;Completing workpapers, including Schedule K-1 and income allocation schedules;Reviewing ASC 740 tax provisions for interim periods and year end including review of deferred and current provision, APB 23, 163(j) calculations, FIN 48 schedules, state and local as well as international provisions;Performing review of SEC quarterly and yearly filings for public corporations and review of audited financial statements for non-public entities;Preparing and reviewing C-Corporations (U.S. and Foreign entity) and Partnerships federal, state, and international income tax returns, including Forms 1065 and 1120;Performing complex partnership computations, including IRC 704(c) computations, basis adjustment computations under IRC 743(b) and 734(b), and disguised sale analysis under IRC 707;Preparing and reviewing technical memos addressing complex transactions, corporate reorganizations, and tax planning opportunities;Utilizing tax software and various research tools including Go System, ONESOURCE, Superform, Global fx, LexisNexis, BNA, CCH, and RIA Checkpoint to provide tax compliance and consulting services to clients; andAssisting clients with Internal Revenue Service and state tax examination, and responding to Information Document Requests (IDRs) and drafting memos and responses to IDRs and various tax notices.Position requires approximately 5% travel.
