Deloitte Services LLP is searching for a Research Manager for the Technology, Media and Telecommunications Institute for Research and Innovation (the TMT Institute), a new research organization launched in 2017. The TMT Institute will be the premier source of data-driven insights for Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) companies. Using deep knowledge of the TMT sectors, proven writing skills, and expertise in qualitative and quantitative research, the Research Manager will help TMT companies uncover new opportunities and solve tough problems.
Work you ll do
The Research Manager will work closely with the TMT Institute s Executive Director and Deloitte s senior practice leaders to develop a portfolio of research deliverables that grab the attention and provoke the thinking of TMT executives throughout the world and influence the market. Product types include in-depth research reports, short articles, bylines, presentations, interviews, videos, podcasts, infographics, and webinars. The Research Manager will lead projects that use primary and secondary research and data analysis to develop penetrating insights that reframe issues and spark debate. In this role you will:
Author and co-author thought leadership focused on the emerging and most inspiring topics affecting TMT companies.
Collaborate with Deloitte TMT partners, principals, and managing directors to develop research projects critical to their clients.
Conduct statistical analysis to develop predictive and extrapolative insights.
Make complex concepts easy to understand through data visualization and analytical frameworks.
Coordinate key projects and data collection processes for studies, working with team members and leadership.
Ensure that research is created using credible qualitative and quantitative methodologies and based on key insights and findings from the studies.
Generate unique insights using structured and unstructured data.
Identify internal and external information sources, build effective working relationships with subject matter experts within the firm and the marketplace, and conduct effective interviews.
Integrate vendor-provided elements, third-party interviews, and publicly available information into research projects.
Possess and maintain excellent knowledge of the U.S. & Global TMT sectors
At least five years of experience in a marketplace analysis role within a TMT organization, a consulting role to TMT companies, or a publication producing insights for TMT companies.
Proven, highly productive writer.
Ability to synthesize complex business and technology trends and explain them in clear, concise, vibrant prose.
Deep interest in the TMT sectors and the discipline to stay ahead of fast-moving trends.
Understand and explain how technological and social change can create new business opportunities for TMT companies.
Possess a strong working knowledge of statistical methods and programs.
Work comfortably with senior executives, including developing relationships, presenting findings, and defending conclusions.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Broad knowledge of critical thinking, investigative journalism, and analytic frameworks.
Familiar with data visualization software, such as Tableau.
Have a broad network of research or technology, media and telecommunications contacts.
In-depth knowledge of the technology sector is prioritized.
Top tier MBA or PhD (in a related technology or business strategy field).
Strategy consulting experience or respected analyst house experience.
Ability to interview executives for podcasts and videos.
